In all honesty, Modric replacing Scholes?.... their passing ranges are at completely different ends of the spectrum....

Exactly. If Moyes did get the job he'd adapt to come up with a style that would suit the players. It's not as if players like Bale, VDV and Lennon are going to be expected to play in the style of Everton all of a sudden.

Moyes is a disciplinarian . If a player pisses him off then he's gone and there is no way back ; witness Saha and apparently now Drenthe .

How many of our players could meet his demanding criteria ?

Maybe that is what we need though. I'm not saying I am for David Moyes, but I think a lot of the things he does would be good for our club.

To be honest Chris Moyles would do a better job than Redknapp is right now.

If Moyes is a strict manager then I'd have no problem seeing him get a chance with our squad. It can't produce performances worse than our recent ones.

I think we have to accept that we are not rivals to Utd and City right now.

If we could agree a deal for £30m plus Ade and they pay half his wages for two years I'd be delighted.

Whatever happens regarding our sales we need to buy better than we have done of late.

if we get offered anything over £30m for Modric we need to cash in, the boy's head isnt at Spurs, he is a shadow of his former self and clearly doesn't want to be here.

Tom Huddlestone will be back next season and his passing is off the chain, im not saying he is better or a replacement, but we can adjust our style of play to suit Huddlestone and maybe not miss Modric so much.

much like when United lose a key player, they dont tend to get like for like replacements in, they get different players and adjust their style of play. its all about moving forward.

It's all Redknapps fault isn't it .

Why don't you cut Harry some slack ?

Isn't it blatently obvious that something has happened that us fans are unaware of ?

Do you think Levy was waiting for the outcome of the court case before sounding out Harry's successor and that Harry would be in the dark about all this ?

It's certainly not all Redknapp's fault, but he's the manager, he's the one that should be motivating the players, he's the one that should learn from tactical errors, and ultimately he's the one that should take responsibility for our loss of form.

He's not done any of those things. All he's done is come out with the same rhetoric that he did last season, as he looks to make sure that underperforming with one of the best teams in the Premiership is actually somehow an overachievement.

You've not listened to a thing I've said .

It's got nothing to do with tactical errors , training or anything else . Absolutely zero . Nothing to do with the England rumours either .

It's becoming clearer and clearer that Levy decided to make contingency plans in the event of Redknapps incarceration and that the stink surrounding Redknapp would not disperse so he would be better off replacing him and that this undermined Redknapps authority .

I don't know that for certain but that's what it is looking like .

Edit : I would not blame Levy for making contingencies . Half the people sitting in the executive boxes in the West Stand have tax arrangements at least as suspect as Harry but will never be touched . Football tends to attract those sort of people unfortunately . You can't have someone who courts so much controversy representing the club .

I did read what you said. Pure speculation that wasn't really worth commenting on. Do you not think Harry would have fully expected Levy to have a back-up lined up in case he went down? Levy would have been stupid not to, and Harry would have completely understood that.

Where is that 45m plus kalou info from? As far as I'm aware the highest offer was 40m...

Will city see Modric as being worth so much more than players like Silva and Aguero? I wouldn't be so sure.

The offer was in fact £30 million, plus Alex.

If that's the case LEAVE IT

We were offered more apparently last summer why would we take less now?

Fergie and Man U can fuck off frankly, hopefully Man City or Chelsea will offer some real money or failing that I'd rather take a lesser bid from Italy or Spain.

I've really had enough of being Utd's feeder club and our players leaving them to fill up their trophy cabinet, it just sets an example of it being the only way our best players will ever get success and becomes a negative cycle in my opinion.

Oh yea and no thanks to Berbatov back, do we really want a repeat of the Sheringham or Keane situation? bringing back an ex player once they have gone on to "bigger and better things" and we take them back when they are no longer needed

Quite RE: the Yanited "offer". They can eff off out of principle. Modric can moan as much as he likes, unless he plays ball and if a Roma or a Juve or someone offers us a fair price, he can sit on his arse for 2 yrs of the peak of his career for free after he uses his last 2 yr's worth of wages to buy out his final 2 yrs of his contract. The *rude word goes here*.
