The Spurs and Chelsea League Cup curse for one another strikes again.
Chelsea have lost 4 League Cup finals in their history
In 1972, they beat Spurs in the Semi final and lost in the final
In 2008 they lost in the final to Spurs
In 2019 and 2022 they beat Spurs in the Semi final and lost in each final.
As for us, while they haven't been a jinx for us in every one of our League Cup final losses - there have been in 3 losses involving them on the way
2002 - We beat them in the Semi final and lost the final
2015 We lost to them in the final
2021 We knocked Chelsea out in a penalty shoot out and lost in the final.
Conclusion - Spurs and Chelsea are bad news for each other if they meet in the League Cup...
