The draw for the 2022/23 EFL Cup will be made on 23rd June 2022 :
.

2022-23 Carabao Cup Schedule

First Round: August 9-10, 2022

All 48 clubs from EFL League One and League Two will be joined by 22 clubs from the EFL Championship, for a total of 35 games. The two clubs who finished 18th and 19th in the 2021-22 Premier League will sit this one out.

Second Round: August 23-24, 2022

The 35 winners from the First Round are joined by the last two clubs from the Championship and the 13 Premier League clubs not involved in European competition. That’s 50 clubs and 25 games.

Third Round: November 8-9, 2022

This one is massively delayed compared to the usual season, because of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

All 25 winners advance from the Second Round and are joined by the seven Premier League clubs that are also playing in Europe.

Fourth Round (of 16): December 20-21, 2022

This includes the 16 winners from the Third Round. ( A few days after the World Cup Final !)

Quarterfinals: January 10-11, 2023

Eight winners advance from the Fourth Round. These games are still single legs at club grounds.

Semi Finals: January 25 and February 1, 2023

Winners from the quarterfinals play two legs, one at each ground.

2023 League Cup Final

This will be held February 26, 2023 at Wembley Stadium

Only just noticed this. Good chance a few of the top 6 get knocked out in the 4th round with a lot of their players not returning until after Christmas.

Chance for a "smaller" PL team to bag a trophy.

Literally nothing to report despite the result. He chased and harried but Portsmouth didn’t really have much of the ball so he was feeding of scraps.

Going to be one of the few times this season we have the midweek off while our opponent doesn't.

Villa 1 nil down at Bolton. Villa are awful under Gerrard. I might have some money on him being first PL manager sacked but what holds me back is he’s best mates with Purslow. Will probably afford him more time than would be expected.
