With Newcastle’s next game being City away, their confidence could really take a hit over the next week.

They’re unlucky to be 2 down today though.

Might just be me, but Newcastle winning something a little over a year after the Saudi takeover just doesn't feel right.

Leaning more towards being happier with a Man United win.
Not for me.
This will galvanise Man U and they'll be back big time, going from strength to strength.
Its a disaster.
So thats Man City, Man Utd and Newcastle securing top 4 for the foreseeable leaving us, Arsenal and Liverpool fighting for 4th.
Unless something weird happens (takeover anyone?).

Man United are 3rd and already above us aren't they? So if they're galvanised it makes no difference to us going for 4th.

The top 4 becomes a top 5 from the 2024/25 season I believe. I also don’t think Newcastle are a shoe in for the foreseeable. The league is just too strong.
Also worth remembering that City spent many years cheating to facilitate their spending.

Crossed fingers for Newcastle to end this match with a nil score line because 1. It will shatter their confidence and 2. There’s a Newcastle fan in my football club I really can’t stand, so this is going swimmingly so far!

Yeah, ever since I saw that Newcastle girl on the Overlap the other week say that she doesn't want Newcastle to be like Spurs and trophyless I've been hoping for their season to crash.

Football fans trying to score points off Tottenham really grates me considering none of Villa, Everton, Newcastle, Leeds, WH have won anything for donkeys years yet we get targetted??!

That was the 1969 Fairs Cup, worthless like when Arsenal won it.
Not recognised by UEFA. 1955 was when they last won proper silverware- even I wasn’t born and I’m 67 and 3 months

It wasn’t marginal.

I've only seen the lines they showed on Sky straight after the decision and it looked onside. Not sure if you've seen something else since?

And I think I was wrong about the marginal var thing anyway.

Good result for us Geordies loosing and I have a Geordie mate who will likely be in tears by the end of this after his 6 cans of wife beater. You can take the Geordie out of Newcastle and all that.
