John Terry is in for a painfully long season as he won't have anyone to cover up his poor qualities. Excellent!

Awesome, Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Carvalho are all class defenders, hopefully Carvalho can be to Pepe what Naybet was to Ledley. La Liga will be more of a two horse race than ever.

If Chelsea have got more than £15m, they have done OK, he's awfully injury-prone these days.

£6.7m for a 32-year-old might seem a good deal for Chelsea, but now everyone will see just how lost Terry will be without him.

I'm surprised he's gone for less than £10m tbh, quality defender. Terry/Alex isn't as good as Terry/Carvalho and I think Chelsea will realise this a few weeks into the season.

Wonder who Chelsea will buy to shore up their defense, it's too bad that Tal Ben Haim just joined West Ham!

He's only averaged 18/19 Premiership over the last few season and didn't look great last season. Alex has looked solid enough filling in for him and will get better with a longer run in the team.

Carvalho in his prime would have been a great loss to them, but not so much now. I think they'll cope just fine.

A bit better than that, but not much—about the same as Ledley, excepting 07-08.

Excellent news. I picked Ivanovic for my fantasy football team and wasn't sure he'd play consistently.
