After the way Ledley played last night that will surely throw up more problems for next season

That was the worst game I have seen from Ledley. Very sad

He wasn't bad, but just not up to his very high standards. He has lost a yard of pace, which is a slight worry, but you also have to consider he's 31 now.

Totally agree with this. A good set, which we'll need as I would hope we'll be competing in the CL again next year

Got to start the transition though Caulker/King will share a spot and then the year after King will be coaching for Spurs/or making money in the middle east and Caulker hopefully would have a spot nailed on.

I've been thinking about this. Overall we have good strength in depth with those 4. However we don't have a Vidic, Kompany, Terry ie a world class CB who will play 90% of our league fixtures, which means that on any given match day we are not stronger as we can only play 2 of them.

King is amazing on his day, but we should be planning for life after King and I think if we are serious about a title challenge next season, which we should be after this season, we should go out and buy a top CB to play alongside Kaboul.

Just sayin'

Kaboul is/will soon be our world class cb, just mark my words.

Terry is not a world class CB. He might have been, but he certainly isn't anymore.

I don't think Caulker will be keen on coming back and sitting on the bench

He cant just expect to come back in the summer and slot straight into the first 11, he's just turned 20 and we have much more experienced players ahead of him.

I would like to think however Kaboul and Caulker is the future of our CB's.

He'll be third choice next year but considering King's knee issues he'll see plenty of match time. Nelson, Gallas and Bassong won't be spurs players next year..... but I have a sneaking suspicion that Nelson will be involved as a youth coach or something similar.

Caulker grew up an Arsenal fan, although this will not interfere with his professionalism and what not it could have a small impact on his love/commitment to our club (similar to Johnny Jackson)

Obviously he will put his career first, and rightly so, but I suspect he will be less patient than someone who had more affection for our club by nature, especially now he he used to playing week in week out at Swansea.

Frankly, unless he is going to play regularly next season for us he should maybe be loaned out again until we deem him ready/good enough to play a key role for the first team. Plus his development will be aided by regular first team football, so unless he is going to get that for us over the course of the season next year he should be loaned again I think.

What about Dawson? and apparently we are after Vertinghonen(Ajax captain)?

I believe Caulker should come back and bide his time but from the little i've read from him in interviews I think he would rather not come back than sit on our bench.

is the arsenal fan bit confirmed anywhere, or is just an assumption made as he said theirry henry was his icon growing up?
