True that. There is a bunch of those Spurs supporting suckers way up north. That grumpy author of crime fiction, what's his name? Rather well-known internationally, sells tons of his books. Furthermore Stefan something, that PM of Sweden. And naturally Egil Olsen, who managed to both bring Norway to the WC and bring down Wimbledon..

The author is Jo Nesbø. Quite an infuriating individual, because he manages to stay pretty likeable even though he's one of those guys that's good at everything:
1. Norwegian U20 champion with Molde.
2. Has a master degree in economics and worked as a stockbroker.
3. Got successful as a singer and guitar player in a band called Di Derre.
4. Hugely successful author.

I interviewed Sugar once. He's a professional Spurs fan - being attached to the Premier League in any way is good for business. He thinks football fans are idiots and loves giving them stick on Twitter. He had no interest in talking about his time at the club.

I remember seeing him on Life Stories and I think he said his son Daniel was the fan, and who suggested the idea of buying us. Sugar had been a few times but wasn't a regular, but he definitely publicly considers himself a Spurs fan. He comments on every game on Twitter - noticeably defensive of Levy, sometimes negative on individuals or "players" in general (parasites!).

Came across this: http://talksport.com/football/exclu...s-stars-and-gives-backing-under-fire-chairman

Interesting for all kinds of reasons

His main character (Harry Hole) in the books is a Tottenham supporter. And in one of his books (Phantom) he has dressed up some drug dealers in Arsenal shirts.
Yes, he is very adept at describing things to a highly realistic degree, isn't he.

Oh, I know them! That's him, huh? I lived over there for a too short period, and this song "Jenter" (realeased some years earlier, I believe) was played at any and every bar. :wideyed:

I like reading the New Statesman, and generally I'll read anything about Spurs. And I feel the usual warm fuzzies about any Spurs fan in the public eye, even if there's something a little fair-weather about them.

But I wish that this article had ended with Hunter Davies choking on a pork pie.

Davies intends to donate his Spurs memorabilia to whatever is built by way of a Spurs museum, seeking nothing in return. Which rather makes up for his picnic piece.
