Possibility but unlikely. Would be delighted to finish in the top 4 - top 3 would be even better for automatic champions league qualification.

I believe our first 11 is good enough too, and I know people keep on going on about how good our squad is, but I don't think it is good enough to win the league.

We have taken time to adapt without Lennon, if Bale gets an injury or Adebayor, it a whole new ball game.

We have a hellish couple of months coming up. I think we'd need to get more points from the second half than the first. I don't see that happening.

Man U have lots of injuries, but have also rested many players and are still comfortably ahead. Man C have a ludicrous squad. Neither are still in the CL.

I just can't see it, unless our players display superhuman powers of recovery and endurance. We will pick up a lot more injuries soon.

I'd just be happy to have 3rd locked up with a game or two left.

3rd would be amazing would be very happy with that. If we come out the otherside of march only a few points from the lead I will start to believe.

The biggest problem is will still have to play most of the big teams away from home.

I don't fancy our chances of picking up maximum points from all of Man City away, Liverpool away, Chelsea away and Arsenal away...plus we have Man U at home which like the Chelsea home game will be difficult to take all three points.

If I'm honest I'd be happy to get draws from most of those matches (but it works out to a lot of lost points)

I don't see us actually winning the league this season, I'd be more than happy with 3rd as it would represent our best ever PL finish (progress) and secure a CL spot in the group phase.

If we are still in with a shout of the title when it comes to the run in, then I will maybe start to believe but we have a lot of very hard matches still to play so I don't know if its worth getting carried away just yet.

Perhaps our Transfer window activity will shape the end of our season too, we have a great team but in some areas the squad depth is a little bit lacking and I would be very fearful how we would cope if we lost any of Bale, Ade or Modric for any length of time let alone more than one of those.

& points behind Utd and City says why we won't.

But, win our game in hand, and we still have to play Citeh and united...do that and that would nullify your argument.

Like most, I would be ecstatically happy with third, but we can still aspire to higher, can't we

We can and should always aspire to be better.

But then realistically, do we have the chance to go that far... I don't think so. We simply make things hard for ourselves, always have done. I cannot see us getting a result at City, and we always just roll over for Utd.

I hope it's not the case, I really do, but I'm just being more realistic and I cannot jump up about what might be.

But, I'm on unlucky Spurs fan though. I've never seen us win live, and the only time I was at the Lane when we did win, I missed all 3 goals because I needed to piss ;-)

This season, I've watched us twice, and seen us lose both times. So I don't even watch us on TV anymore, and whenever I bet us to lose, we win - really fucked up reverse thinking, but those are my rituals and sacrifices for the greater good!!

Lasangegate and 37 years of mainly hurt are the main reasons I still never beleive anything Spurs do until it is done!

If he had the same number of points in any of the past 5 seasons (I think) at this time of the season we would be first or second which just shows how good e have been. As has been said Man U have some serious injuries and Man City will lose 2 of their biggest players come January. We have evey chance to push these guys to the very end and that's what we should be aimin to do. Will be interesting if any money is spent in Jan as it will show if Harry and Levy is really too to go for it. Either way it's very, very exciting times.

There's no point in asking whether we can or can't. The important thing to ask is how we do it.

That means buying well in Jan, preparing tactically for every game, managing the squad so that players don't get tired, etc. These are things we can do, not just say, or think.

Confidence doesn't come from just saying we need it. Confidence comes from preparation. Confidence comes from working our arses off in training. It comes before you've kicked a ball, because you already know what to do in your head and even if they're shaking you up now you know you have a plan to get back on track.

Self-belief is important, but it is meaningless without real action. If we really, really want it, we'll do everything possible to give ourselves the best chance of success, leaving the rest up to Fate.

When you ask whether we "can" be champions, that's like asking whether Fate is on our side. But that's out of our hands, whereas there are so many things we could do to try to win each and every game. Let's focus on those things before dreaming of luck to flow our way. Now that we "believe", let's do our best to fulfill those beliefs!

I think we can beat utd, but to beat city away from home without Adebayor will be too much to ask. Ade makes us tick as a team and city are really strong.

However, one game doesn't make a season. We have earnt the right to be considered challengers and I'm loving the optimism on here. Ultimately things like bad luck and tossers like Foy could make the difference between 1st and top 3...

Don't go to any more live games, please :eek:mg:

I have had a good feeling about our games at the Etihad and at home to United for a long time, now - I believe we can win them, and think the players will have a quiet resolve and bit of fire about setting things straight, and, on top of that, if we are still close at the top...COYS!

And this.
I think, really, what we want is for the team to go into every game believing they can win it (which I think we can), and if they do that, league position will take care of itself, and we should believe we can be in the shake-up at the end.
