...Is it normal, to cheer on the opposition when they play the likes of Chelsea. Man Utd and Chelsea??

I posted on facebook that a win or draw for Fulham would be just dandy....to which a Chelsea fan replied ' love it when our rivals have to rely on others to keep them above us lol, shows real fear and respect for the better team he he he ' . I said we are all guilty of that to some degree, and he reckons he doesn't do it, he just 'revels' in seeing his rival's getting beat.

Well low and behold...what happened on Tuesday do you think???

This... ' is an ac milan fan tonight, come on milan slap these big headed yids back into place, hammer em 8-0 or something shut harry the trap up ffs ! '..

He reckons, because it's a Champs League game it's different, and that if we beat Milan it's easier for Chelsea to beat us?! Then went on to say, let's compare who has won what blah blah...and that it's plain to see who is harder to beat.

I replied to the above comment with this
'
well considering we are 1-0 up from our game on Tuesday we are in a nice position going back to WHL. Arsenal on the other hand have to go to the Nou Camp - a hard place to go as everyone knows..as for comparing who has won what and what year...it doesn't really matter does it??...That's history and every club has one of those...some more successful than other's..but that's in the past...you have to get through your game with Copenhagen first before ( just like we have with Milan ) to say who is to easier to beat...hence why I wouldn't and you shouldn't count your chickens - cos you might end up with egg on your face.'

He has just replied by saying this ' no football is about making predictions based on the team, its players etc, etc, its all part of the game getting egg on ones face, look at chelsea in november, who would have bet against us wining the title the form we was in, we get that rythem back again and no one will stop us, spurs and arsenal have never gone on such a run unbeat scoring so freely.'....

I think he's a bit of a tool...isn't he?

It's part and parcel of football.

Best thing to do is ignore him, or even better delete him from your friends list if he's on it. He is indeed a bit of a tool.

Do it, do it! I've had to do it in the past with Arse fans for various reasons.

Some people can dish it out but can't take it back in return. Me, I personally have no issue taking it on the chin, when we were "2 points from 8 games" I was still there, taking the shit. I figure that gives me ample reason to dish it out when the time comes!

If they can't take it back then that's their problem.

People care too much - who cares what you said weeks or months ago - football changes every minute and so do our opinions.

Live for the moment and next week just post that you love Copenhagen and stick your neck out. Its all banter! Makes life a little more fun!

Sounds like a prick ... you should delete him from face book and your social life... what ever he has caught at Shedford Bridge might be catching?

Up to you whether you delete him from your friends list or not. Personally I would just ignore it for now and then give him some right abuse when we finish above them in May!

Spursbabe don't forget to remind him at every opportunity that Abramovich bought Chelsea their way to anything they've won in recent years. That always goes down well with their obnoxious supporters.

If it's history he thinks makes a team better then remind him that before Abramovich's money they'd waited longer than us for a league title, they've won the FA cup fewer times, they've won fewer European trophies and have won the Champions League exactly as many times as we have.

Not to mention they've only beaten us once in the last 7 meetings

I always cheer on whoever is playing Chelsea, Arsenal, City or United. I want us to finish as high as we can so obviously you want the other contenders to lose. If the guy on FB doesn't get that he must be simple.

Saying that I wouldn't delete them from your friends list. Just ignore them for a few weeks until they are mathamatically out of the title race then ask them when they are going on that winning run again. And if they are still behind us with a couple of weeks of the season left you can start asking if they are cheering on the opposition yet.

Back in the 1960s, if I wasn't going to one of our away games and didn't fancy the reserve game at the Lane, I admit that I would now and then go to Highbury with friends and very loudly cheer on the opposition, no matter who they were.

Angry glares from Gooners were welcome!

I still urge on their opposition to win (shame on you Barca!) but I don't really do it with any other team unless it has an important bearing on our position in the table or any competition we're in.

For what its worth I deleted my brother's girlfriend from my facebook as soon as I found out she was a West Ham fan. Cue a text from my brother a few days later;

'Isn't my gf good enough to be your friend any more?'

My response: 'No, and if your kid ever wears a West Ham shirt I'll delete you too'.

So delete the smug, arrogant, Chelsea supporting douche. Sounds like he's got his head so far up his own arse he won't even notice.

People like that wind me up, it's the hypocracy of it all and then twisting themselves in knots trying to act like it's okay for them to do it. Give me a break.

EVERY team depends on their opposition losing. Chelsea wouldn't have won the league if ManU's opposition hadn't done Chelsea a favour, the only way you wouldn't need that is if you won every game of the season!

He's just bricking now their house of cards is starting to crumble. All that smug, self-important bollocks that he's probably been spouting for years now makes him look a bit foolish now things are coming apart at the seams. That embarrassment leads to an akward defensive attitude to anything that doesn't match his view.

Is it just me or do Chelsea have a higher than average idiot rating among their fans?
Most of them come across as unreasonable, mouth-breathing, knockle-dragging, fuck-tards.

Maybe it's just me though...
