We've now been totally outplayed 4 games to zero against this lot. And I do hate Chelsea. If this was any normally run business, and the CEO had been totally outperformed by a rival CEO lets say 4 quarters in a row, that CEO would be done, dusted, shown the door. I hope I am alive to see the end of ENIC and LEvy.

I was hoping for 2 points from Leicester and Chelsea so for me it’s a gimme from here on in.
Agree it's not where we want to be, but given where we are 3 points away at both Leicester and Chelsea could have ended up much worse.

Keeps top 4 in our hands, so next 3 games really important. Especially with Arsenal and Wolves playing each other soon.

The defeat is just about tolerable if we don't put out such a shambles of a side again this season
It's going to be a depressing wait for me till Brighton, just hope a couple of transfers lift my mood

It's just occurred to me that they're going to knock us out of the FA Cup if we beat Brighton, aren't they?

West Ham, Man United, Arsenal. us and anyone else who's bothered, top four is up for grabs. We are in a great position, I would’ve taken this at the beginning of the season- so totally agree with you, it’s all to play for.

Still wondering and sad about the Kane goal. As has been said, double standards at work. If Kane goes down under a push like that he doesn't get a penalty. If by some minor miracle he does, he's criticized for going down too easy, buying a penalty and doubtless some would call it cheating.
Dele gets pushed in the back v Pool, goes down, no pen. Then IIRC they go up the other end and score. Pretty much all the pundits dismiss our claim for a pen, and crucially so do both ref and Var
EDIT just saw on another forum, a picture of the two pushes together, apparently same ref ??

Losing a game is one thing but throwing the towel in like Conte does against Chelsea is unforgivable. If the likes of Brighton with a much weaker squad can take Chelsea on then why can’t we? After the quality display against Liverpool we played the next game packed with defenders. After an encouraging performance against Leicester we went and parked a fleet of buses next game.

It's all so easy after the event. Like it or not, Conte has decided that Dele, Lo Celso and Ndombele do not currently* deserve a place in the team. So without them, Son and Romero unavailable, Gil too wet behind the ears, and a couple of others not yet 100% fit, I struggle to see what better way he could have set up the team away from home against Chelsea. Had we gone in at half-time 1-0 up, things could have been so very different and we could be sitting here reflecting on how he out-foxed Tuchel tactically.

*Winks has shown there is a way back if you're prepared to knuckle down and graft.

I don’t follow statistics but the mileage Kane must have clocked up yesterday was probably top of the Roy of The Rovers league, he was at the back in defence, running through the midfield and trying his luck valiantly but ultimately failing due to lack of class around himself.
Need some proper class in there.

But what about Skipp and Moura, if they can come on in the second half, why not at half time
It's not a case of after the event, many of us were shouting for Tanganga to be subbed at half time, before it was too late.
I still don't get why Tanganga started at all.
Why are players on the bench and brought on, yet neither fit to start. It would have given us a completely different shape and superior team by sticking to 3 ATB
Play White or somebody in mid, neither Sessegnon or Tanganga are good enough to start at the Bridge. Maybe Sess at LWB, at a push.
I just am so disappointed and depressed at the team picked and subs timing.
And that's not after the event, I didn't like the team before kick off or after half time

No doubt this won't be a popular opinion but I don't think we were so bad and the result was as most of us expected. We were definitely a better side with Skipp and Moura on the pitch. For the rest of this season I believe we just have to accept that Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool are streets ahead of us and we can only compete with them on effort.

Agreed, the effort was there but the quality wasnt. I also think that the efforts on Wednesday took their toll aswell as we looked leggy.

I looked at our remaining fixtures and whilst ive pretty much resigned myself to writing off the Liverpool and Man City games i quite fancy our chances in every other game that we have left. There's a trip to old trafford and one to VIlla Park that maybe you could see us being under dogs in but the rest if i were a betting man i think the bookies will make us favourites in.

Can say what you want about Kane and how he acted I the summer, but you got feel for him in games like yesterday. He has absolutely no one behind him that is anywhere near his level of skill. Has to be frustrating.

Not sure we can blame the players when Conte left Reguilon, Lucas, Skipp and Gil all on the bench.

If we follow Conte's approach I'd have gone with:

Lloris
Emerson Sanchez Dier Reguillon
Doherty Winks Skipp Gil
Kane Bergwijn

Sessegnon and Doherty were so ineffective, I can accept Doherty as if we're doubling up RBs he's the only one, but Gil and / or Reguillon had to play instead of Sess and perhaps Davies as well.

I can see what he was trying but ultimately it didn't work tactically and we had better attacking players on the pitch which was a reason we were so bad going forwards.

Clearly the following aren't good enough :

Doherty
Sessegnon
Tanganga
Winks / Hojbjerg

Bergwijn came out with a lot of credit though I thought playing as a second striker.

We weren’t cheated out of a penalty- Dermot said it was a foul, so it must have been!!!

Didn't Conte say after the match that all three were carrying knocks and not 100%?
I'm sure they were carrying knocks, but sometimes you have to play through these knocks. What's the difference between Skipp coming on at 45 instead of 56,maybe a point maybe top 4, maybe not losing to them, again.
Tanganga off, back to 3 5 2 and suddenly we look a team that has a chance at 0 0
Obviously Conte is a great manager and I'm a nobody venting on a forum. But as a Spurs fan defeats like this hurt so much, and I can't help but vent ?

Or maybe losing the player for a prolonged period?

Exactly, it's a gamble. But Skipp and Moura came on at 56 mins, so a double gamble was taken then
Would the gamble of bringing Skipp alone on at 45 mins been a better gamble, IMO yes
