Whatever you guys think, at the present he's still better than sanchez and dier and should be on the bench at the very least. Poch is too into this freezing out thing when winning games is the most important thing. We're just going to get less money for him and piss him off even more.

He's not because he's not Poch match fit, his last few outings he's been shaky so even if this contract thing was ongoing he still wouldn't get in over Sanchez at the moment.

It's interesting that Toby still featured in the cup games. You'd think it it were a simple freezing out he wouldn't.

I mean, it does all look very suspicious, but there is a chance that perhaps Poch siply doesn't think his training and fitness is up to the standard he demands since his injury, irrespective of Martinez deciding he's fit.

I dont think Poch is the type to freeze a player out but he does plan for life without certain players. He did the same with Walker. He clearly made Trippier first choice but used Walker to rest him where possible. It looks like Toby is going the same way that Kyle did. He's at that age now where I think Poch is ok with losing him.

Toby still has 5 or 6 years at the highest level, Poch is not trying to force him out, just making a point that it’s the team over individuals.

I think he made a big mistake today with not putting Toby in. On set pieces we look a lot more solid than with Sanchez and I think we all know Toby is a better defender but to not even have him on the bench is a massive error in judgement at a time when we can't really afford to be playing silly games because Toby is stalling on contract talks. Really not that confident today but willing to eat my words and beg forgiveness if we can get a result.

They have a couple that can win the game themselves, but I think from top to bottom that we have more than them.

It’s games and situations like this that show us how we are mentally as a team. Are we going to show up, be mature and take the game as we should. Or are we going to waffle a bit and let the game go by having one lapse.

There are times I think we have arrived and then there are times where the old mentality creeps in. Today I am hoping we grab he game by the neck.
