...shades of AVB - all sideways and backwards, with no intent...Chelsea had us right where they wanted us until Eriksen floated that knuckleball in...need to attack with more intensity in the 2nd half...

Some people in this thread don't deserve that goal

Should be fucking ashamed if you're an adult and react like some people did to a bad 40mins of football

(Kids are excused but go and do some colouring or something)
Not everyone is as positive as you mate. Different strokes and all that.

It’s been a poor half rescued by a great goal. Need to recognise that and start keeping hold of the ball in their half and stop leaving absolute acres of space for their wingbacks.

I’d even consider getting Rose on and matching them system wise in the second half.

WOW Eriksen, WOW!

We haven't looked like scoring unless he was on the ball.

Despite that I'm not particularly happy with how we are playing. Gaps all over the place at the back. Poch needs to drill it into them "GAME MANAGEMENT". Don't take needless risks, don't leave space behind if the attack is weak.

Sonny up top isn't working, he needs to be playing the channels, not the centre. He can't get hold of it and you can see he's not quite sure where to go when he receives it in that position. He needs to be out wide and told to press Moses back and work the flank.

We got away with a few breakaways from them. Can't keep affording them this half.

Meh, don't care. A draw would be massive for us even if we scrape it through.

Yep. I would take a draw.

Having said that we are totally capable of beating these but we really need to up our game. There's been good and bad from most of the players out there. If we can cut out some of these errors like poor touches and over hit passes we will be capable of winning this game.

Can we please have a reverse of last season's fixture? They have by far the better of the 1st half, but we score a worldie to equalise on the stroke of half time and then go on to win 2-1. Tit for tat.

Playing too narrow.
Moura on second half.
Fine equaliser.
Edgy; they're playing well.
Settle for a draw now.
Definitely.

I'd swap Alli and Son. Son is playing back to goal to much. Let Alli hold up and get Sonny running at them.

Completely understand people being negative and that's cool but I don't and will never understand people saying "game over" and calling our players legends when they haven't even bottled anything

Also have to give Alli great credit for chasing down that ball and keeping it in which lead to the goal.

Don't know why we've completely ditched the back 5.

It's useful for games like this when you need to make things tighter at the back but Poch hasn't touched it for ages.

Exceptionally lucky to be going into HT all square. I think we've been all over the place.

You have to start with tactically. Last year in this fixture we were given the run around by Chelsea's then new-fangled 3-4-2-1, since then in fixtures we've matched up against pretty well, today it's just back to square one and we're losing this tactical battle. The wide forwards are killing us, Davies and Trippier are outnumbered but also making poor decisions, and their wingbacks (particularly Alonso) are killing us in the second wave working off the wide forwards movement. We're also poorly set up for the counter attack and getting done by quick combinations.

Individually it's been more bad than good. The fullbacks, Dier and Dembele have been a shiteshow, the front four have been two narrow too quickly and haphazard apart from a couple of combination plays, and Lloris had another of his big game wobblers.... It hasn't been good.

And yet for all this struggle, one moment and we are back in the game. But I hope we're not resting on our laurels, because it's got to be much better in all facets in the second half.

If this was his first season with us many would want him sold. Too much falling over and pointless flicks this season.
Then they would be pretty dumb. Good luck in finding a 21 year old that has 10 goals and 13 assists in the premier, that won't cost a kings ransom.
