Just been having a look at todays edits for Mike Ashley's wiki page, kept me chuckling for a while, especially when someone changed the name of one of his children from Matilda to Fatilda

Cruel, but funny.

Big mistake by Jol, and very disrespectful to Hughton, who Jol called his only friend in football.

Disappointing stuff.

thats unfair to jol. He left Ajax through mutual consent. Which normally means he was sacked. With Ajax 4th in the league this does make sense.

LMA should seek the maximum compensation for CH what an unbelievable slap in the face. Yes clubs have the right to hire and fire but considering the shambolic situation Newcastle were in Hughton dragged that club off the ground and back into the prem as well as being in a decent position league wise he should have been given better backing.

There don't deserve him and i hope THFC brings him back.

bunch of ****s

As much as I love Jol I think I'd lose quite a bit of respect for him if he became their new manager, considering the way they just treated his clipboard holder.

off topic, Carroll can't be sold, its against his bail conditions.

What a joke Newcastle are. Hughton took them up at the first time of asking, he has got Andy Carroll into the England Squad, they are 11th in the league and he gets sacked. A sad state of affairs and completely typical of Mike Ashley.

I now really hope that Newcastle get relegated so that Hughton can stick 2 fingers up at them. He deserved a lot better.

This ^^^^

He has been treated so bad!!! Wasn't so long ago that Ashley was trying to sell the club, and Chris takes over and brings them back to the premiership and this is the thanks he gets...Ashley deserves a kick in the balls I think...Fuckwit!!

Why would we want him back? We have plenty of staff here. He's a top bloke and I wish him the best in the future, but i'm sure he'll want to remain in management. He's still new to it all and needs to get straight back involved again.

Martin Jol it is then. Well i'll always respect him for what he done for us but I still hate Newcastle. I hope he respectfully gets them relegated. I also hope Ajax get a manager who hates Suarez and sells him to us. Any Ghanian managers about?

I feel sorry for Hughton and wish they'd given him more time. Using the excuse that he isn't experienced enough is just crass.

I hope he goes to another club and shows them just how successful he can be while Newcastle take a dive.

Shocking behaviour from Mike Ashley again. CH was doing a fine job up there!

I thought this summed things up well, from Phil McNulty's blog on the beeb:

The farewell statement that accompanied Hughton out of the door at St James' Park was part-praise/part-insult as it read "an individual with more managerial experience is needed to take the club forward."
More managerial experience? From the club that asked legendary striker Alan Shearer to perform his first managerial task by trying to save them from relegation at the end of the 2008/09 campaign.
Take the club forward? Maybe something has been missed along the way but winning promotion from the Championship and putting Newcastle in mid-table in the Premier League sounds like decent advancement to most observers.
And how many managers with more experience - and not many would get experience if they were treated in the same cavalier manner as Hughton - would relish working at Newcastle after this?

An exclusive piece from Simon Bird lists a string of revelations as to just what Hughton had to put up with at the club.

According to Bird, Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek Llambias sacked Hughton because he was not "showbusiness" enough for them and they wanted a manager who would attract the Sky cameras to St James' Park more often - as each visit from the television station pockets the club £500,000.

Among the other nonsense that Hughton had to put up with was a duty to submit predictions for future games which he then had to discuss and compare with the Newcastle chiefs' own set of tips.

According to the paper, he also had to hold meetings with Ashley and Llambias before matches in order to listen to their football input as the pair considered themselves experts.

He was also accused of 'milking the crowd' after Newcastle beat Sunderland 5-1 in the Tyne-Wear derby when the fans chanted his name.

And finally, the paper claims that Hughton was furious that his policy of treating the players like adults was perceived as 'weakness' by the men in charge.
Joke of a club.

A guy on that forum from page 2 called that, minutes after the announcement of the sacking.

So, Chris gets sacked for not being showbiz enough and they bring in Alan Pardew. That's like getting rid of your car because it's not sporty enough, then going out and buying a Volvo.
