We have to get this done ASAP because if we don't the bigger teams might jjust get involved considering the lack of quality strikers available on the market. Word is that he handed in a transfer request. In levi I trust.

Chelsea or Arsenal. He has said before he thought Villa was a London club and he wants to play for Arsenal.
If Dein was still at arsenal he would of already signed.
Does look like a mourinho signing. Would prob mean torres would go very cheap! Levy cheap!

Ah well, there goes my hope. And could we buy Torres and swoop him with David Villa?

Lukaku scored 17 to Bentekes 19 and he was the far the superior player against us in our games and he gave our defense a pretty torrid time. Benteke was meh.

I see strong similarities between the side we are potentially building and Mourinho's Chelsea in 05-06 when they won the league. Also where AVB learnt his trade under Mourinho's tutorage.

Cech vs Lloris: two top class keepers

Gallas vs Walker: Both mobile (gallas was back then) and slightly erratic
Terry vs Vertonghen: Both very strong, positionally sound, leaders and organisers and both have an eye for goal (terry having scored 7 this particular season for Chelsea)
Carvalho vs Kaboul: Not exactly alike but both very aggressive in winning back the ball rather than holding position
Del Horno vs BAE: Arguably the weak link in both teams, inconsistency being a trademark of both in my opinion

Makelele vs Sandro: The destroyer in each team, aggressive in getting the ball back, both are fan favourites for their work
Essien vs Dembele: Both powerful runners with the ball, able to drive the team forward and are also sound defensively
Lampard vs Paulinho: Comparison was made by Riquelme himself, both know how to score and keep calm in pressure situations

J.Cole vs (a seemingly targeted new inside forward): The creator and link man with an eye for goal, something our side needs as I feel Lennon can't fulfil this roll. Gylfi played this role at times last season and impressed in my opinion
Drogba vs Benteke: Both fast and strong with plenty of technique to go with it, can both link the play, an all-round hassle for defenders
Robben vs Bale: The widemen who cut in with obscenely dangerous left-foots committing defenders and thus creating space for others. Bale has more of a free-role than Robben but I still think cutting in from that right channel is where I like seeing him the most, think about the goals against west brom, Southampton and Sunderland last season.

Clearly there are parts where you'd think one team is stronger than the other. To expect 20 goals from Paulinho as Lampard got is clearly overly ambitious. Everyone would also expect Bale to score more than the 7 Robben got. Also consider that Drogba only scored 14 goals in 40 apps for Chelsea in this season, which I think all of us would agree Benteke is capable of doing. We don't necessarily NEED a striker to come in and get 20+ goals straight off the bat. Interestingly after this season Chelsea strengthened at left-back with a certain A.Cole, therefore replacing their most inconsistent player with one of the most reliable players I have seen (as much as I hate him); This is something i'd like us to do and I'd absolutely love Baines.

I think AVB knows how to play with this personel because he was at the centre of it at Chelsea working under Mourinho, also his Porto team wasn't too dissimilar.

Is that an eye test?

Well if his teammate is saying Chelsea, we can just as well stop talking about it. Game over.

Looks like he made the most of his london visit!
Maybe he's talking about the Belgian national team playing a 4-4-2. Straws. Clutching.

If you trust levy to slap down a £20+ bid sharpish then prepare to have your trust broken
