Not so sure the fans want to see him on the pitch more like he states, one of our Italian suppliers is a big Inter fan, and he is massively disappointed in him and wants him out the door ASAP, thinks he is very lazy and not trying hard on the pitch. I did warn him he wasn't the player of 3 years ago.....................

It's a shame but he was his own worst enemy. Wanted his big money deal for years but his performance level dropped as he became less interested in playing for us. This in turn put the big boys off and now he's playing at a club which isn't any better than us, if not worse, in a weaker league, and for a manager who he just doesn't suit.

wasn’t there rumours that Inter Milan still owes us money for the transfer?

And what of they do? It's still as good as money in the bank. I see this sort of comment quite often on here, like because the other club still owe us money it would somehow make another deal cheaper.

As I said in another thread I wouldn’t want him back as his level dropped at the end of his time with he hasn’t regained in Italy and don’t think he’d regain it if he come back

I’m not even sure if Conte wanted him in the first place, it seemed like an opportunistic buy by Inter at the time, a top drawer player for a relatively low sum.

Unfortunately, I feel he’s burnt his bridges with us. It’s a shame because I think his work rate, at peak, is severely underestimated on here. Alongside PEH I think he would be excellent if he were to rediscover his form. His ability to cut down passing lanes was exceptional. That was something too many overlooked in his game, moaning about him not making tackles. He rarely needed to as he reduced passing options for the opposition which allowed the “tacklers” to do their job more effectively, and him to be in a position to benefit once the ball was won.

Personally, I’d take peak Eriksen back in a heartbeat, I think he’d thrive in our current setup, but there’s the rub, would we get peak Eriksen back?

I have my doubts.

I think, as many have already said, that one of the side effects of the Poch era, was that many of these players got burned out before their time. Eriksen must have played in nearly every game, for something like 3/4 years straight. And I think that final full season, when we didn't sign a single player to bolster the squad, let alone the midfield, saw him maxed out. There's no coincidence that his performance, and the team's in general, went down after that Burnley game, when he was pretty much the only fit creative midfielder for about half a season.

I think that, unfortunately, Eriksen isn't going to hit those levels again now.

Interestingly enough, he doesn’t appear to suffer when playing for Denmark, he’s still their pivotal player and they are a hard working team with him as their hub.

Makes you wonder...

Levy can offer him parity with Kane 200'000 a week.*

* 200'000 Rupee! You just got Levy'd son!

TBH I have no interest in seeing him in a Spurs shirt again.

They build their team around him. No top team would do that for Eriksen, he just isn't that good and never has been.
In a set midfield position he is a luxury. No one is going to offer him a roaming role behind the strikers with little defensive responsibility (not even the likes of West Ham or Everton can offer that anymore)

And the recent performances I've seen for Denmark have been nothing to shout about. Anyone can score 2 penalties*

*Sergio Ramos need not apply.;)

To call him a luxury player is lazy, Ozil is a luxury player, Eriksen comes nowhere near to that -he's excellent at cutting out passing lanes and presses very well, his running stats are always normally pretty high.

In a set midfield position he is though.
