Firstly I love Luka but let’s not forget he tried to force a move to Chelsea

Secondly would Luka perform as well if he had a surgery, was tired, played in a different position, lost some of his confidence, the whole team playing poor?
It's not like Luka played alongside world beaters. He did want to go to Chelsea, heard no, got his head down and a year later went to Real. Eriksen wanted to go, heard no, got shit and instead of Real went to Inter.

I don't blame him for wanting to leave, or for running down his contract. That's fine. I blame him for his half arsed performances. Levy messed up by not selling him when it became clear he wanted to leave and wasn't going to sign a new contract.

That's not how it works you can't just sell a player to anyone if they don't want to leave.

I always thought it was strange that Poch said if he won the CL he would leave. If I was Levy I would wait my chance. In his book he was always with Levy and only said good things about him. I really think he couldnt confront Levy in a man o mano way and just dealt with things openly I think he either caved into Levy or he was truing to emulate Che Guevera by occasionally letting the cat out of the bag with that leaving if he won comment

I don't think that was a strange thing at all to contemplate. He would have won the biggest European competition with a team not expected to win it, realistically it wasn't getting better than that. Capping 5 good years (with a team already declining) and going out on a mega high, I can understand a player or manager thinking that.

Whether a press conference was the right place to contemplate that and be thinking out loud, especially for ultra sensitive football fans and the world to hear, is another matter.

I dont think it was strange to contemplate, I think it was an inability to directly deal with Levy. Pochs a nice guy wanted to be friends with everyone, the players and the boss and he was but that didn't help him negotiate with Levy. He couldn't say if we lost it he would leave (looks very weak),he said if he won it he would leave. To me it was a message to Levy to maybe deal with him a different way but I think it made it worst. Couple that with the ongoing problems on the field and it creating frustration for both.

He has said one of the reasons for joining Inter is a better chance of winning trophies .
This statement astounds me as he is a big part of the reasons we have not won trophies .
Many semi finals and a couple of finals I can't recall him turning up in any of them .
As I say if he had tried harder we might be sitting here with a trophy or two . Not only him of course its just the statement is a sly dig and shows his real character . He could learn a lot from Modric with regard attitude and commitment when not getting your own way.

He’s speaking the truth. Ridiculous from a lot of our fans to blame him on our bad form and CL final. And that so many said/say he was toxic in the dressing room when Poch and Jose said he was 100% professional and when he left almost every player posted a picture of him on social media and still they say he was toxic when it’s the other way round

And his poor form this season could be because of many reasons. His surgery, being tired, lost his confidence, playing in a different position etc

But in terms of Champions League final he was supposed to be our creator, our best passer who runs the midfield.

And he didn’t.

You're right in strict terms. But Levy should have said we're selling for a reasonable sum, and if he refused the move then stick him in the reserves. The way we handled it was poor.

Both he and Trippier in recent interviews have failed to praise the Club or Poch.

Bollocks to the pair of them.

Now please come back to the real world. Sticking players in the reserves to rot never happens especially assets like Christian Eriksen, simply put you cannot force a player to leave all you can do is try and sell but if he doesn't want to go to the club's that come in for him there's nowt Levy or the club can do.

Levy gets criticised for not paying his players the 'going rate' yet there he was offering Eriksen £200k a week yet he still gets the blame for not selling him, damned if he does...

Maybe not the reserves, but you can absolutely stop playing players who aren't in your plans. This does happen in the "real world." If a player knows he'll be out of the team for a year, he'll probably think about moving sooner rather than later.

Whatever the reaction to Eriksen this season (it wasn't about him wanting to leave, rather his commitment on the pitch), he will be remembered fondly in a few years – as he should.

Stop playing Eriksen and replace him with who? Who else could replace Eriksen at the time who could walk in the team and was capable of doing what he did? You're really going to interfere with the team and upset the coach over a game of poker, really?

Whatever scenario imagine it's going to be a negative one on Levy however I feel he took the best course of action on this and still ended up getting money for him regardless.

I'm not saying it's an easy situation. I just would rather we stopped playing him after this summer and bedded in GLC earlier. Instead, we kept playing a demotivated Eriksen.

The grit and determination in the last two being outplayed yet having the fighting ability to come back was laudable .
Does anybody think that we would have had the same spirit with Eriksen and Rose in the team ? I don't for me the place has the smell of fresh air with them two gone . Eriksen "couldn't give a toss " attitude was plain and clear anybody that did not see that has blue tinted glasses as regard to Eriksen . And my opinion will not change that but for me the place seems better without him .
What a shame as he was a great player for us .
