Hogwarts? I always figured Pulisic might be a wizard. I wonder where the sorting hat will place him. I hope its Gryffindor! I bet he plays seeker on the house Quidditch team!

Sounds like at a minimum even if we are trying on this one it is not near complete nor one we would be confident of. Back to hibernation we go.

I would guess this one gets done relatively soon - for someone.

I think he wants to move on - otherwise, sitting down with Dortmund to discuss his future does not make much sense. So, they will see what kind of valuation Dortmund put on him, and then talk to Spurs, Liverpool and United. Realistically, I think Liverpool and Spurs make the most sense in terms of opportunity and style of play. But, can't rule United out.

All three teams tour the US at the end of July, so I expect they want to get the deal done in time to maximize marketing.

Pulisic has been released from the National team, so he will be on holiday for the next couple of weeks - but I can see things coming together quickly after that.

Pulisic is similarly nothing like Eriksen and more of a Son/Lucas type of player.

Role-wise he's nothing like Eriksen, I agree, but it's that creativity and vision that I suppose they have in common. Weirdly he's sort of like a cross between someone like Lucas and an Eriksen I suppose.

If we're spending big on a pure winger I've gotta believe we're moving Eriksen deeper. Just doesn't make sense that in our current line up we line up Eriksen wide right to start. But then we'd have Lamela who we play off the right and then Lucas and Pulisic who also prefer to lineup on the right? Idk, I think we have much bigger priorities than this. Give me CM, Toby replacement and backup striker/Martial before Malcom/Pulisic/Zaha, etc.

I agree that we have other priorities, CH if Toby leaves and CM being the obvious ones, but I genuinely believe Pulisic has all the talents required to be a real star in the future and he's very versatile and could play anywhere in the 3 behind Kane so would certainly get minutes. If there's a chance we can get him I'd hope we take it, especially given he's only 19

Christian Pulisic's father calls Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham links 'hogwash"

I'm not surprised about this. Players don't go out and find clubs. It is highly likely that not only have Pool/Spurs been tracking his development and scouting him, but they have made contact with Dortmund and/or his agent. There will be offers on the table, one of them may be ours.

I'd say he has damn near the same player profile as Lucas. I think there about as close of players as you can get.

I would like that. The only thing I could see keeping Liverpool from him is their current expected outlay is rising at an incredible rate and while they definitely have the cash to burn they don't seem to have any discernable sales of value to balance the book when FFP comes asking. That said I still expect him to end up at Liverpool even if they have to break rules to ger him.

I could see Liverpool getting him after Salah moves on after next season or something.

I'm thinking along those lines too. I expect Liverpool would be the front runners but when you consider they have spent £45m on Fabinho, Looking at £60-80m for Fekir and now are in the market for a top GK at a similar price to Fekir, and must have a fair amount of deadwood to shift too. You do wonder if it'll be the right time for them to sign him.

Not only that their top 3 looks pretty impenetrable and they have Fekir coming in for depth in those areas too.

Look at the profile of the players Liverpool are buying. Since they made the move for VVD it's pretty clear that Klopp and those backing him think they aren't far off achieving something.

Not saying Pulisic isn't on the radar, too many links/history etc to overlook it, but the Fekir link won't go away and that's looking/sounding like 50-60+ I can't see them then forking over another 40-50+ for Pulisic unless the Fekir deal is just good agent work and paper talk ...

Not sure I'd go that far. Lucas is more of a proper winger. I know Pulisic plays out wide for Dortmund at the moment but he started out playing more centrally and for me he's more of an attacking midfielder who could play anywhere in the 3 behind Kane than he is a traditional touchline winger like Lucas. They're both good on the ball, Pulisic is quicker though IMO and has better vision and the ability to thread balls through etc. that I'm not sure Lucas has.

Are you saying Pulisic is quicker on the ball than Lucas or like physically quicker? I'd say acting like either of them is faster than the other would be splitting hairs. I'd also say Lucas has decent vision. I fell like all this Pulisic passing talk is based off him playing as a 10 for USA. If Lucas was born in the states he'd be playing in the exact same spot.

I just can't justify this transfer what so ever.

No but Liverpool are going to have a backup plan if Fekir doesn't come off. Probably the same for ManU. By all accounts it sounds like he is a top but also probably not the top target for us in his spot. If his group know that they very well may just wait it out and see how things play out.

Not talking about the USA I'm talking about Dortmund. When he was coming through he was primarily more of a central player but he's transitioned to playing more often wide on the right (and occasionally left) for various reasons, whether it be down to the formation they use, him not being ready to play more centrally at this higher level yet, or whatever, but to me he's still fundamentally an attacking midfielder who can play either centrally or wider on either side, anywhere in the 3 of a 4-2-3-1. The way you make him out is like he's just a winger like Aaron Lennon or something sells him short IMO. He's got a lot more to his game than that. He's a long way from the finished article but he's got potential to be excellent in any one of those positions, not just a run down the line and cross it type winger.
