Yeah where's the article though.
I am like you - I can't find it anywhere on Kicker - tried their twitter feed, which led to a search just for "Pulisic" - which led to that twitter account from a Dortmund supporter who thinks Pulisic's value is closer to €100M...

Just had a search my self, find it odd others are quoting kicker as the source of this info yet they have not posted anything themselves...

Its all an incestuous relationship - once the story is in the ether, everyone runs their own version - and blames Kicker....

Kicker is like WTF Dude? We never said that...

Liverpool Echo picked this up - quoting “Kicker” and TeamTalk as source:
‘Tottenham have made a surprise €50m bid to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic, who is a long-term target for Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United (Kicker)‘

So they picked it up & announced it twice?

Must be true.

I'm not the biggest fan of the player having watched him quite extensively over the past couple of years, but this deal makes too much sense from a marketing and business standpoint to pass up. Especially given our ties to the NFL. He'll easily be the number one shirt seller in America within days, and will pay back the transfer fee probably within months just from his commercial value alone.

As a player, I think he still needs some developing before he's at our level. Then again, we're in a financial position where we have to buy these players before they're at our level, because when they reach our level they'll be out of our price range. I can see this deal happening.

I know what you're saying, but that never happens. No club makes back a transfer fee on shirt sales.

Every time we sign or are linked to an American, people make the same statements about shirt sales and millions of American fans, and it never pans out. Yes, Pulisic would get us some additional exposure to the US market, but he’s not exactly LeBron James over here. Most people who follow soccer enough to know who he is already support a PL side, and few are going to switch just because we have an American. As for shirt sales, the same arguments applies here as did for Yedlin - if he becomes a genuine star for us, playing every week and scoring for fun, yes he will receive a lot of support. If not, Americans won’t really care - in fact many will resent us for failing to develop their best talent. And the club gets barely any money from shirt sales anyway. End of the day, we should only sign him if we think he will be the best fit for our squad, because if he isn’t then he’ll never have the ‘commercial potential’ that always gets brought up.

Fully agree, but, if having Pulisic would get an extra say £3-5m year from someone like Nike for Naming Rights due to increased exposure in the USA (which probably isn't a huge reach) then it could start to pay dividends.
