There simply are not many teams in Europe that can afford him, want him, and Bale wants to play for.

But, from a club perspective the last thing you want to do is make decisions based on emotions. A move like this has to be evaluated harshly - does it make sense financially, does it make sense on the football pitch, there is no room for sentiment at this level.

That is why the Bale decision is so difficult. I am sure we can all agree that we would love to see him again in a Spurs shirt and that he can definitely make our current squad better. I fear that the financial aspect of the proposed move would be the most likely reason for us to miss out on Bale this summer. However, I would love to be proved wrong.

Apparently Chelsea are interested in pulisic and will try using batshuayi. Probably journos putting 2 and 2 together but could see that happening.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering switching their attention to Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic following Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League.

Spurs had been leading the race to sign Ryan Sessegnon, but the 18-year-old could stay at Craven Cottage for at least another season after Fulham’s Championship play-off victory over Aston Villa.

Fulham do not want to lose Sessegnon and it would take an offer of £50million or more to force them into even thinking about a sale.
With that in mind, Tottenham are looking at alternatives and 19-year-old Pulisic is a player admired by manager Mauricio Pochettino and his staff.

The signing of the United States international would also be attractive to chairman Daniel Levy, who is trying hard to exploit the American market by staging NFL games at Tottenham’s new stadium.

Pulisic can play on either the left or the right side, or as a central attacking midfielder and his versatility would be a huge plus for Pochettino as he looks for ways to strengthen his squad.

Liverpool and Chelsea have already been linked with Pulisic and Dortmund’s interest in signing Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal could encourage the Blues.

Dortmund currently value Pulisic at around £50million and it remains to be seen whether Spurs or any other Premier League club is prepared to get near to that price.

Asked about his future, Pulisic said: “Obviously I don't look into that like a lot of other people do. I'm very focused with Dortmund and under contract with Dortmund. Down the road, you never know.”

For those interested in seeing him, the USA team plays Bolivia on Monday evening (23:30 in UK). I believe he is in the team and they may very well play him as a 10. The game is on the fox network here in the states.

I believe the #10 role is his future. Arguably had his best match for the US as the 10. He is quite a versatile player.

Matches up with what Herc and Trix have said and both have confirmed Matt Law seems to have a good contact with the club. Hope one of these pan out.

Chelsea may have some leverage what with Batshuayi.

However, one look at Chelsea and I'm sure he'll soon realise his game time would most probably be limited.

How many on loan...he only needs to ask Batshuayi why he's in Dortmund in the first place.

Can’t wait to sign him and hear the crying coming from Merseyside’s fan base. They’ll be devastated.

The only reason Levy is attracted is that he’s American. The reality is, while Pulisic has great potential, he is no where close to it and is not ready for the Premier League, IMO. So Poch wont play him much, if at all. I hope all parties resist the temptation here. Best case scenario for Pulisic is he goes to a club in Spain or Italy(if he does leve Dortmund) and gets game time.

We both know how little self awareness a majority of players have, especially when there's big contracts involved. Let's hope if us and Chelsea are really going for him, him and his entourage are smart enough to put gametime over money

I think for a 19 yr old you’re probably not going to find anyone more ready to play a role right away. Buy him now and he’ll be ready to take over the Lamela/Son rotation position when they’re ready to move on.

Sonny scored a belter today for Korea. I know it's a squad game but he's still being so underrated, he dipped but pretty sure it was said he played last month or so on pain killers.
With Martial operating from left mainly I wonder if it's better decision to go for Pulisic who operates from right with Son keeping starting spot on left. Pulisic is a much better ball player in my opinion than Martial too. They'd rotate along with Dele and Lucas a lot but against bottom half at home the below looks pretty balanced and tidy:

Kane
Son Eriksen Dele Pulisic
Dier
Rose Vertongen Sanchez KWP
Lloris

Dortmund just completed the signing of a new RM/RW (Marius Wolf), possibly preparing for his departure or could just be strengthening their squad depth.
