That doesn't make much sense - they've been steadily improving their European coefficient (or whatever you call it) over the last few years. This year they were actually seeded quite high, but they were unlucky to get a tough group.

Still, I agree with you on the no sympathy bit though!

By virtue of only having had one season in the UEFA Cup/Europa League prior to buying their way into the Champions League they were improving their coefficient score each season purely by qualifying for the group stage. But because they'd had hardly any European football in the preceding seasons they always ended up in the lower seeding pots. Whereas we've been in Europe for all but one season since 06/07 and have had a relatively high seeding for a few years now.

Can see City having to sell in the summer if they get knocked out. Can't see UEFA giving them another fine if they breach ffp again.

They'll also be restricted to their 21 man squad for Europa games. Meaning they'll either have to put out a very strong team or kids.

If the winner of the Europa league qualify for champions league through their league position, does the winners champs league spot go to the runner up ?
Doesn't the Europa League usually be won by a team that has already qualified for the ECL?

Aguero looked knackered again at the end!
Why they did not go 4-5-1 at haft time and take Aguero off.
