It's funny though, their English players are their weaker ones. Similar to us.

I'd take a punt on Richards but I don't think he'd want to be second fiddle to Walker. In all fairness though I think Naughton's done well as Walker's stand in. On the left he's useless but he's done well enough in his natural position.

Lescott wouldn't be too bad, I'd take him over the way Dawson's been lately. We may need 2 centre backs if Kaboul's not going to last so he might be a decent option for free.

I honestly have no idea how good Richards is these days, he's played so little the last two years. Hard to tell if he'd be better than Naughton (who's done alright at RB apart from the occasional brainfart) but I seriously doubt he'd accept being backup.

Would definitely not be against bringing in Lescott for a season or two.

But surely Man. City are in a lot of trouble with the home-grown players rules if they get rid of all of that lot?

Them releasing Richards is a puzzling one - he's Citeh through and through, i remember a rumour that we went after him a few seasons ago but he shot all of it down before it came to anything. He's a very capable defender, can play centrally or right and loves the club with all his heart... i think they'd be fools to release him. The rest i have no idea - does Lescott still have a turn of pace? Might be worth a crack to fill that LB spot until we can identify a youngster to bring in.

Richards > Naughton and Dawson

Sinclair > Lennon Sigurdsson and Townsend

Rodwell > Dembele and would count as home grown
