Wow, a massive groan can be heard coming from Manchester and Surrey
And from my living room, I think both my flatmate and my girlfriend are going to kill me if I make another joke about this...

Worth it, though

Well, Mankini is already saying that they are going to try and win the EL which bodes well for us as it'll keep em busy. If hes got aspirations to win that then he'll have to field a half decent team.

God I hate Peter Drury. He's always just screaming a load of dramatic shit until the point it's better off just muting the wanker.

Medial ligament damage for Vidic, minimum, according to Utd.

That could put an end to his season then. That would be terrific news for us as bad as that sounds.

On another, rather off-topic subject, is it just me or has Nasri done fuck all for City? And I mean fuck all.

6 weeks healing time for that according to Googling, not sure how long it would take to get up to full match fitness after that though

In fairness, Dinamo were getting slapped about all over the place by other teams as well. On the face of it, it seems dodgy but I highly doubt it is.

Madrid only managed to win 1 - 0 in Zagreb.

Lyon had only 2 scored goals in their previous 5 Champions League games and rested some of their best players yet still scored 7 in 30 minutes..

Hunger of the fringe players?

Would be a logical explanation for someone who only saw the scores. But the dodgy scoreline in Zagreb mixed with the wrongly disallowed goals in Amsterdam makes it very suspect imo.

I reckon this will have a negative influence on both of their form now and by the new year we'll be top.

What are my odds on that then Houds?

Or.. both clubs have even more reason to invest in new players and will do so in January.

Yeah, but what's the likelihood of two sets of officials and four teams potentially being involved in match-fixing during a major sporting competition?

Out of interest, because I see that the GD would have been identical if the two Ajax goals had stood, who would have gone through on the head to head comparison between them and Lyon?

Take in mind that Platini is head of UEFA..

If the 2 goals had stood Ajax would've gone through because Ajax would've gone ahead against Madrid and Lyon would've been the one losing faith instead. Had Ajax drawn the game Lyon could score as many as they want they will still be eliminated.

Having just seen the Lyon goals they really do look incredibly soft. The defenders don't make any effort at all to try and block them, let alone tackle.

The keeper just falls over for most of the goals too. And as has been just pointed out on this highlights show on ITV1, the Lyon players don't seem too fired up about it as the goals go in either.
