Matterface is a Chelsea fan and Carlisle is famous for anything but his actual football career ( alcoholic, countdown, pfa role etc ) awful player

Why do they always work our games!!!!

That was the worst commentary I've ever heard, there was so much wrong. He's payed to have an opinion about football and he didn't even know that Vertonghen has played LB before.

He's been awful ever since they let him loose on championship games on sky yrs ago. No idea how he's grown in popularity since then.

Utter fucking dreck.

The basic requirement for any commentator is the ability to identify the players on the pitch. They can't even do that!

The commentary was as bad as the game. It's games like that you need the commentators to help it along but Clarke Carlisle has as much personality as drying paint.

I like Matterface, he doesn't let the bias shine through but Clark is like a bad impression of Stan Collymore.
Both reasonably intelligent with funny accents but Carlisle talks utter tosh when behind the mic!

Well if anyone other than Spurs and Sheriff fans cared about the game then maybe there would be some decent commentators but until we get to the latter stages of the competition we can't hope for much more than Clarke Carlisle and Sam Whatshisface.

But why give him a job at all? I mean they might as well hire Ronald McDonald as commentator, he has the same knowledge of the game as Carlisle with the added bonus of being able to cook an arguably tasty burger.

Yeah that would be brilliant, even one commentator representing each team commentating together would be good. See a repeat of Neville v Carragher in United v Liverpool games for example
