Yesterday his refereeing was atrocious the fact that spurs did not receive some major injuries from some of united challenges was amazing. Nani challenge on chimbonda could have easily have broken his legs and it was just a yellow card.
Rooney lunged two footed to tackle Jenas, so Jenas jumps over the challenge then gets done for high foot. These situations are just many of the situations were Clattenburg completely rewrote the laws of football for united and this happens to often for the big four can I hear other peoples thoughts on this?

I don't see many games he has refereed when Spurs aren't playing, so can't comment on his overall performances. But when he referees spurs he is consistently poor. And as we tend to get him officiating when playing one of the "big 4" his blunders cost us dearly.

I wonder what you all think about the penalty that wasn't given to us for handball....haven't seen anyone mention that.

He was clearly a coward not giving a red to Nani

The refs have been helping out the big four for sometime now, why do they do it? Who knows, might be subconscious, might be they are intimidated by their players, might be that they are bent, might be that the authorities are bent and lean on them, but something needs to be done, because it's so blatant, game after game the big four getting decisions in their favour, it's well beyond coincidence.

Agreed!

It isn't possible to be as shit as they are, there has to be more to it.

Phil Parry was going mental about him on 949 yesterday. He's hopelessly inconsistent—either he's unnecessarily picky or he just lets some pretty outrageous stuff go. Remember when we played United at the Lane last season and Scholes clattered Lennon inside five minutes and didn't even get a ticking-off?

One word on Clattenburg => ****

Oii! You nicked my avatar !!

no hes the worst ref Ive ever seen ref at the lane, he was dreadful, they deserved at least 2 sending offs in that game (Nani, Hargreaves(which could of broken Jenes's legs!!!))

I rarely get caught up in the whole 'ref was playing for them' argument, but yesterday was totally unacceptable.

Although tbh there was 3 mins added time and the 30 seconds was added for O'Hara's substitution so i can't see how we can complain about it.

Juande was caught out on that one the same way as Wenger was at the Lane last season when he put Senderos on in the first minute of added time. Time will be added on if the ref's pernickety, which Clattenburg most certainly is.

I'm still waiting for the download to be posted, but just going by the way Parry was doing his pieces on 949 it was obvious Clattenburg was being hopelessly inconsistent. One thing he went ballistic about was VdS picking up a back-pass, which has to be a clear infringement. That's quite apart from the stuff others have mentioned. If you're going to go absolutely by the letter of the law, fine, but you've got to go by the letter of the law all the time.

I'd have loved to see him in charge of Ghana v. Nigeria tonight.

I have to say quite often I 'think' the referee is against us and it is simply a matter of a few decisions going against us.

I felt that he came down quite hard on manure in the first half, bookings for dissent and the crowding of his space. However I also felt that it could not go on and Fergie would have 'had a word' directly or indirectly.

Ref's know that if Fergie makes a big noise about the ref then the chances are his performance will be investigated by the press at least and possibly the fa. This could have serious ramifications for the ref and they know it.

The second half was simply unbelievable, at least one of Ronaldo's fouls deserved a yellow but it could not be given because he would have had to walk. Nani on Chimbonda was a leg breaker where far less has been rewarded with red. Berba and Robbie were penalised several times when they themselves were clearly being fouled.

The other point that surprised me was that none of these incidents were shown on MOTD - heroic performance by Spurs where we conceded in the last minute nothing about inconsistent refereeing.

Now please correct me if I am wrong but is this twat not the same ref that disallowed a mendes goal from the half way line when it was 2 yards over the line?

Is is not the same 'ref' that sent mido off for a challenge that Shearer made cross in cross out through his career against Chelski?

The problem for me was that yesterday was a terrific sporting occasions with two teams playing at the top of their game spoilt by the men in black who conspired to send at least 30,000 spurs fans home feeling like they had been cheated.

It is time that ref's performance's are monitored for every game and where decisions are inconsistent and as poor as those yesterday then a ref is held to account?

until that happens BIG managers will always have the edge on those not at the top 4.

well, i bet we're not the only ones complaining about him, someone start a potition and we'll all sign up, along with other fans, then maybe the FA (doesn't that mean Fuck All??) will have to look at how bad he was...We can all spend as much time on here moaning about him, but it wont do any of us any good until the main people know what the paying people think of the ref's standard.... He defffooooo played into uniteds hands with overtime on both halfs, it was like he wanted them to score, it was horrible to watch... i have no fingers left.

I rate Howard Webb. I think he always makes the games flow and normally makes the right decisions and doesn't buckle to the big names.
Clatternburg was a disgrace for both teams and has left himself wide open to critiscm with that performance.
