Your first sentence doesn't make any sense.

By supporting Tottenham what do you think you are supporting?

Your local team? Maybe for some but not for most.

A team that plays good football? That's something some tell themselves but it isn't reality.

local team family history and my football club - that's me hope that makes sense for ya

not sure what your point your making or trying to make - England by birth Tottenham by ancestry luck and love

My point is that supporting club or country both include a bit of illogical tribalism.

"England by birth Tottenham by ancestry luck and love" is probably why many support the club. But once again it doesn't really seem a good reason to support a club.

Told those that I spoke to on the day of the final that I would be over it in an hour whether England won or lost. I got that horribly wrong, it was 5 mins tops. Added to that, abuse of the players and the disgraceful scenes before and during the game has pretty much confirmed I'd now actually prefer it if England won fuck all.

"Football's coming home." Fuck off.

Both, equally with different experiences. The passion is different, I'm losing a little heart with domestic football because of all the money and the foreign journey men whereas international it never lets you down, you cant buy your team. Every players is their for their country for the same reason at club football thats not the case for me.

I can't find it within myself to actually support England, before it was because the team wasn't likeable and had people like Terry in it. Now it's the England flags everywhere, beer throwing, ten german bombers, the arrogance of footballs coming home and all the idiotic behaviour at the weekend. I want them to lose every game. It's shameful.

I don’t support England but this is a sorry thing to hear, it really is. From the outside, England have always had this connection and I’ve always hated it, it’s nothing new to me. My cousin in Brazil told me everything bad was report over there , not good.

Spurs over England every time, have never bet on Spurs to win , lose or draw but have backed against England in the past and usually make a profit, I mean how many tournaments have England won.
There must be an awful lot of mug punters in this country on Skybet today for the World Cup England are third favourites at 7/1 !!!!, Italy are 10/1 where is the sense in that.

International is a bigger stage and the stakes and interest are higher for many more people. Club is a kind of hobby obsession but in terms of identity I'm not sure what it means really- I support Tottenham because I lived there for a while when I was getting interested in football again and started going to games, I like the culture of Spurs as a club and can identify with that. I'm more affected by England losing this final than the CL final, and even more because of the shame surrounding it now.

Country.

I got far more excited/nervous about our WC run to the semi finals and our recent Euro's run than I have been about Spurs in years, including the Poch era, CL final etc. That tells me all I need to know.

Both.

The last two tournaments were magical. I have always watched England games regardless of opposition or competition. That will never stop. 2021 is my 96. A tournament to remember. Yeah okay the final didn't go to plan, and the "fans" were deplorable. But it brought me, my dad and my brother closer together than we ever were. When Luke Shaw scored we went ballistic.

Just like Spurs. If I am able to I will watch/go to games regardless of opposition or competition. Going to watch all three friendlies on Spurs TV, will be at the Arsenal game and will watch that Chelsea friendly.

Far more invested in Spurs but there is something really special about watching England in a tournament. I think it’s the feeling of collective joy when they do well, especially with it being the one time you’ll celebrate with all your mates/family (both Spurs and non-Spurs).

I’m finding this Euro final disappointment harder to shake off than the Champs League Final.

Not trying to be funny but shaking off dissappointment should be one of the key skills of a spurs fan. Decades of consistent semi and final defeats made it very easy to forget the defeat last sunday.

Don’t really get the anti England vibe. Think it’s really odd. Roughly 55 million people in England and 300-400? Behaved like idiots?

I actually feel more into England now more than I ever have. Great young team, good people to boot and a throughly nice bloke managing them.

I think what helped me weirdly is the off pitch nonsense. That seemed to overshadow it really.

Agree with you about feeling more into England.
The England squad, the coaches and support teams have been fantastic.
The antics around the final by the jibbers, ponces and thugs (and the absence of any organised policing/stewarding) were a huge embarrassment however

My level of interest with the England team tends to be based on how many Spurs players are in the team!
