My gooner mates reckon they have a realistic chance of getting him.

First off. Why do you have gooner mates?

Secondly, that would surprise me big time but I'd be keen to know what they are basing that off other than having a manager on the way out partly as a result of a chairman not investing in the team....

I know it's extremely unlikely to happen due to him saying previously about being a man of principle etc, but what would your reaction be if he did take over at the goons?

Would it be as bad, or worse than Judas? I don't for a second believe he would, but every man and their dog is linking him there. He can do much better and wouldn't fuck up his legacy here, but then again, Money talks....

I couldn't give a shit personally, I have no feelings for him.

Unless he took a whole new approach to his game plan, philosophy and setup, he really is very much better taking a sabbatical before taking on a new club. I guess he will be so fixated to wanna prove to the whole world how wrong it is for us to sack him that this eagerness will just do him no good. Him and his team will just be so easily found out.

It'd be pretty tragic though if he went to Arsenal, signed a contract, and then they said "Ok, can you do that 5 year thing where you get us in the Champions League every season - we've been told you don't need any transfer money or something?".
I'm pretty sure he'd soon see Levy as a Sheik in comparison.

It would be shit. He’s an excellent coach and manager and would sort them out.

Or he’d relegate them cause he’s COYS forever?

If Poch went to Arsenal it would 100% ruin his legacy for me. The love I felt for him is because he truly seemed to love the club and us fans.

Good news is, I don’t think he would ever go to them or Chelsea. He is too loyal.

Wouldn't even be in the same universe, let alone a nearby ballpark. It would be disappointing, for sure, but Campbell's move was out-and-out treachery, fuelled by greed and vanity, and enabled with lies. We wanted Campbell to stay and he [vindictively] fucked us, whereas we wanted Poch to go and we gave him the elbow. No comparison to be made.

Absolutely love the guy but he's desperately in need of a rest, in my view. Personally think he'd be mad to take ANYTHING until next season. It's not as if he needs the money either.

Why does everything have to be an argument?

As you just said yourself, you cannot dismiss the achievement.

It's going to continue to be "mentioned", as its one of the most remarkable things that this club has done in recent years. I imagine we will be "mentioning" it for the next 20 years or so.
Agree mate, that’s why I blocked shady dan because everything becomes and argument and then he just picks fights, most are rational on here but the two on my block list are not.

completely agree with your points mate.

I posted in the General football forum at the weekend that a few different journalists in Italy expect AC Milan to go in hard for Poch for next season. Gab Marcotti said he was their dream choice in the summer just gone if he left after the UCL Final. Instead they hired a fucking nobody who got sacked after seven games and replaced by a guy who was sacked by Inter Milan after less than a year in 2017.

Milan may not be among the giants of football now but they are a giant club and I'd back Poch to get them into shape. This is a club that haven't played in the Champions League for several years but on paper it should be easier to make the Top 4 in Italy with Milan than it was to make the Top 4 in England with Spurs which he did 4 out of 5 years. They were banned from playing in this year's Europa League because of some FFP rule so the fact they're 12th shows what a mess they are. Someone needs to clean it up and maybe it's the right challenge for Poch to do. He'll get better offers I'm sure but maybe the satisfaction of a challenge with a sleeping giant is better than taking over PSG or Real Madrid.

Sounds like a good fit potentially and I see where you're coming from but they seem as far off the elite as we were when he took over us, if not much further...

Why would Poch want to take the Arsenal role even without the Spurs connection

crap players
Crap ownership structure
Crap fans

Turning into West Ham

far more appealing roles out there abroad and Utd would be the one to wait for if he wanted to stay here

I think Poch could be good for Athletico if Simeone takes another job in the summer. PSG are apparently after him.

Very respectful from Poch, not sure what some people expected him to say. I will always love and respect him for what he achieved for our Club and as a human being. He will always be magic, I know.
