"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."

The most famous man in our history uttered those words.
In comparison to such a legend, I am nothing.

But I call upon every Spurs fan attending the game tonight to support the team as if your life depended on it. As if every chant you make will be the last time your voice will ever be heard. As if every moment there you imagine a life without it and want to show how much it means to you.

I call upon every Spurs fan around the world to join the chants in your local, in your front room, on your illegal stream. Your voices will travel the world and will join in unison with those of us fortunate enough to have survived the ticket website or priviledged to hold a season ticket, urging on the team to dream the impossible dream.

The younger fans have heard stories about the glory days. Would there be anything to compare to the night when we trailed the mighty Real Madrid 4-0 and somehow came back to win.

Life gives greater rewards when you ignore the easy option and strive for the difficult.

Pass up the easy Adebayor chants. From first minute to last, whether Real score, whether they don't, never give up on the team.

Let's show the world that, as proud and loyal Spurs fans, we will never give up on this team.

West Stand, Paxton, Shelf and Park Lane, all four sides in one voice, until the final whistle. No time for shyness, no time for quietness, now is our time, as fans, all together as one.

We owe our team to show we believe we can do this, no matter whether we suffer further setbacks tonight.

Come on you Spurs. Come on you Spurs fans.

Yep, cracking post. No 'dodgy' chants and berating of our players. Full blooded 100% support for our lads, whatever the result. Hopefully they will produce as terrific a display as we could hope for.

I'd love to hear Glory Glory sung for a phat chunk of the game.
I recall watching the home leg V Sevilla a few years back and it was spine tingling good hearing the Lane bang it out in unison.

You could actually see the extra exertion from the players as a result.

Llet's see that again tonight!

I will not be there, but I will be there in spirit.

I will be sat at home watching the game in my Spurs shirt, cheering on loudly, so hopefully sending the right vibes to you guys and gals at the Lane. But what I want most of all is to hear the Lane rocking from start to finish with no let up, no matter what the score.

Great post Matty, and a wonderful quote to use.

COYS, and COY Spurs Fans.

Lets all beleive for 90 or maybe even 120 mins.

I'll never forget that atmosphere. We were down and out, but the Lane just united and chanted the whole game. One of the best atmosphere's I've been part of, especially when considering the situation.

Couldn't agree more. Whatever happens on the pitch let's make it a night to remember and have the Madrid players thinking bloody hell i will be glad to get out of here.
I think the crowd will be up for it. We should have bought Luis Suarez etc is great for the message boards but there is no point being there tonight and moaning about things like that, 90 minutes of noise is all that matters.

Is anybody else struggling to make a post today without ending it with "COYS!!" Even in my work emails my fingers just want to type it at the end of the messages!

Well said that man!

I can't help but feel the request not to sing the stupid Adebayor songs will fall on the deafest of ears but other than that well said!

The best atmosphere I've ever heard at the Lane was in the second half against Sevilla when we were effectively out by half time. We need to recreate that tonight, put Madrid under pressure and really go for it.

I'm proud of where we've got to in this competition and as long as we play to the best of our ability tonight I'll be proud once more.

COYS!
