It means that Levy/Paratici told him not to play him. Hopefully saving him for a transfer but could just be a disciplinary measure.
They wont want anymore negative fan reaction to him as it'll make it tougher to shift him at a reasonable price!

It's a bit of a misquote and it could just as easily be interpreted as "I checked with the club that I can drop him and they said yes"

That's exactly how I read his quote. This is the problem with broken English, the way its spoken can be (and will be if opportunity arises) taken out of context.

That’s how understood it. I found it a little concerning that he felt he had to do this.

No it means he said he dropped him for tactical reasons which is the club line. Doesn't look good if you say you dropped him because he's a lazy twat I guess from the club's pov.

Antonio Conte dropped Tanguy Ndombele last night following talks with Fabio Paratici as the club attempts to offload the midfielder this month.

Agree. The coach picks the side, and they usually get pretty put out when this is interfered with.
(AVB walked when asked why he didn't play adebayor - the player he had demanded.)

It only makes sense if conte was told ndom was in the process of being loaned/sold.
And that makes no sense either as I can't see ndom going anywhere unless he organises it himself, and he doesn't have the energy to do that. He'll run this contract out, sitting on his arse, as is his right.

At the end of the day, football is a business and Ndombele just happens to be our biggest investment on the playing staff that has turned into the ultimate liability.

The football and business side of a club need to travel in tandem and as we are in the early phase of a transfer window, he was just being mindful and respectful of the business side which is actually great to see.

In other words we want to sell him but if we play him again it's less likely anyone would want him

It's lose, lose. Play him, risk him stinking out the place and getting booed by own fans again OR don't play him, every potential buyer knows his time is up and you are desperate to get rid. His value depreciates both ways
