Oh fuck, three-quarters of my workers are gonna be pissed. All week they've been bragging that they were going to win the tournament. Some went to the game too as Levi Stadium is only around 5 miles from us. I told them they were mad paying > $300 for their tickets. Shit, I'm gonna have a grumpy workforce for a few days.

I watched it. Lamela looked really good when he came on. Was only on for 20 something mins, but scored, was let down by Messi, of all people, in a promising one two move on goal, and also tackled and scrapped an unlikely possession with three opponents on him. Was in beast mode and looked really good. Team were on top when he came on, but he really helped put it to bed.

Of course they rejected the Jones and Wood appeals. Bullshit that Wood's card wasnt rescinded. Yeah the actual foul was a deserved yellow but the fould occured while a player sent off was still on the pitch. The game should have been restarted. The ref had no business restarting the game. Especially since the ref waited that time to restart the game since Jones hadnt gotten off yet. Disgraceful refereeing.
Also, 2 yellows in this tour tournament carrying the same punishment as a straight red is a bit nuts. Either reset after group stages or make it 3 yellows. Alot of teams have been hurt in the tournament by the 2 yellow thing. Or the refs need to be alot more lenient since the football is very physical in the Americas and alot of yellows in this tournament were very weak.

It' strange how you've never really taken to the sport. Maybe it's the lengthy, advert -free halves? I reckon once a genuinely world class talent comes through the ranks it will finally capture the imagination of the country.
As for Messi, I support him in pretty much every game he's playing in. Can't help but love him!
Once the US gets a world class player in the Premier League (and it doesn't have to be Messi or Ronaldo level), then it'll boom.
