I know we have been poor over the last couple of seasons but we should improve this season with Bale, Vertonghen, Adebayor and Dempsey in the box.

Who take corners now that Modric and VDV have gone?
Dont know what Dembeles are like, Lennon cant get any whip into crosses and Bale should be in the box. Maybe BAE?

Anyway time to start getting some regular goals from corners as last season whenever we won a corner I couldnt give a shit because you just knew nothing would come from it. Im sure against Stoke at home we won about 18 and did absolutely nada.

Sigurdsson was taking them in pre-season, obviously that is dependent on him nailing down a starting spot...

With Dempsey in the box, I'd stick Bale on them.

I think we may improve from last year. However, goals from corners are not as usual as one may think. Only appx. 1 in 50 corners on average end up with a goal.

This is an article from 2011 (the 10-11 season) on the subject.

We generally seem to be having a prob. with getting people in the box and numbers in attacks, so that has to be sorted first or doesn't matter how good corners are if no one is in the box. Watch Manure for a masterclass of committing people to the box and fully supporting attacks.

What would that average? About one every six games?

That would be fine.

The average from the 10/11 season was something like 5.3 corners per team per game. So about one every ten games. I don't know our average though, but we're probably a bit higher than the league average so you may be right.

True, when the ball gets headed away to the edge of the box not a soul is there for us.

Hudd (when on the pitch!) is always a good option for a pin point cross/set piece. Him aside, then I'd imagine it would be Sigurdsson or Bale

He ain't gonna figure, not an AVB type player - not dynamic enough. Days are numbered here whilst AVB is boss.

Bale's too good in the air to take them. He's scored the most headers for us in the last couple of seasons.
Dempsey's conversion rate is so good though, it's a trade-off but then I think that it's almost not worth having anyone in the box if the delivery is poor, and I wouldn't say other than Bentley and Sigs we've got anyone else capable of producing a set piece as good as Bale.

Sig deliver the best corners we seen at Spurs for years, and im sure we will see many goals from corners this season.

Atm our squad is filled with big and powerful players; Ade, Bale, Dempsey, Dembele, Sandro, Kaboul, Verts (Gallas/Caulker depend on who play at CB), and im sure a clever guy like AVB will take full advantage of this.

We really should be doing much better this season with set pieces.

Kaboul (when fit), Vertonghen (10 goals last season), Adebayor, Dempsey and Bale are all very good headers of the ball. That coupled with the service from Sig (a set piece specialist) and some actual decent coaching, we should* be much more of a threat now.

*but probably wont.

Siggy has many faults but he is top class delivering set-pieces including corners. With him delivering corners we'll be much more of a threat than we were last year. Ade is a useful distraction - he's really not that great in the air but looks like he should be. Dempsey and Bale are both excellent and we can expect Sandro and Verts to contribute as well.

We are absolutely packed with 6ft+ers so we should be a threat from it. If playing Sigurdsson should take them as he has an excellent whipped ball and the options we'll have queuing up to head it in will see us having a far better success rate than last season.

Crazy to think Gallas is the shortest of all the players you mention. Every single one is 6ft+ - surely there are a few cheapish goals in amongst that lot...
