Could you forgive Yann Kermorgant?

Im sure we've all seen it, but basically in the Leicester vs Cardiff game last night, the penalty shoot out was tied at 3-3, and Yann Kermorgant, the Leicester striker strode up and tried to chip his penalty down the middle-it was so poor and slow that the keeper had enough time to halt his dive, get back onto his knees and fist the ball away-truly shocking. As a result, Leicester went on to lose, with the Cardiff keeper making a cracking save from the following penalty; however, i think most would agree that the match was won after the chip as all of the momentum swung in Cardiff's favour.

So basically, i want to know if you'd be able to forgive him if he did that for your club. Id say its probably on the same level as a one of our players doing it in the FA cup final against Arsenal, and if that happened, im not sure i could ever honestly respect and cheer for them again, not because he missed obviously, but the manner in which he did it.

Could you give him another chance?

No I would forever hold a grudge that would bear over me for the rest of my days until I found him and KILLED him.

He tried to score, sometimes it works, sometimes it makes you look stupid. If he belted it and missed it would have been the same, only people wouldnt be so pissed off, even if he put less thought in all the same.

I cant agree with that.

If for example, Jenas had done that against PSV instead of what he did, im not sure i could look at him again-its sheer arogance in my opinion and its not giving yourself the best opportunity to score a goal-its lessening your chances in the hope that you might look better, which has got to be one of the most annoying traits in a lot of modern footballers.

If someone blasts one and misses the target, you're probably going to put him down as an unlucky bottle job-doing what Kermorgant did was quite frankly an example of ego massaging in my opinion, and im not sure i could tolerate that in such an important arena

Exactly.

If anything what he tried to do take more courage than the twat that just belts it and misses or hits it too close to the keeper.

It was poorly executed but Defoe's missed penalties that have cost us important points (Everton eg) through taking shit penalties.

No it wasn't, it was just a footballer trying to use his brain to his advantage. Unfortunately his body let him down.

If the keeper fell for it and it went in it would have been
...and i doubt we'd have a thread berating the keeper for letting in such a soft penalty. The guy tried something different, it didn't come off. Penalty shootouts are a shitter anyway, as someone said above, at least he had the testicular fortitude to step up and take one.

Fell for what exactly?

In that case if he was to take a run up, stop, then dive into the ball with his head; THAT would be the keeper falling for it. . . .

The dinky chip, we've seen a lot of them go in before, makes the keeper look silly.

It looked even worse in real time because every single penalty before it was absolutely brilliantly taken and scored!

I watched it and thought "you absolute cock" afterwards, then felt really sorry for him cos his team mates were clearly pretty pissed with him, didn't seem to be anyone consoling him, just the last kid who missed.

What makes it even funnier is the 6 perfect penalties before it.
