It could be that (misguided?) loyalty helped manufacture this situation. It could have been that certain members of the board wanted to replace Jol in the summer, but some ? fought his corner saying give him more time. When our season started dismally once again, the Jol isn't good enough members case was strengthened and efforts were made to bring in Ramos.
To behonest whatever the scenario I think we should stop pissing our pants about it. The board were right to persue Ramos or any other perceived top drawer manager (and one that has just won back to back UEFA cups, two spanish cups, euro super cup, spanish super cup, in his last 2/3 seasons is definately not to be sniffed at)
