Crossing, the big difference today

All season long, our crossing has been largely based around Andy Sinton style, stabs into the box.

It's either the diagonal to Crouch for a knockdown, or standing it up to the back post to for him. IT DOESN'T WORK!! It gives the defender the chance to get under it and make it hard for the forward, and the ball has no pace on it to get a header on target.

Today, two lovely whipped balls into the box from Pav and Hudd, a nice little bit of movement and it's hard for the defender to get there, the ball has the pace on it, so just needs direction, and Crouch gets two rare goals.

Will we learn a lesson? Or when Lennon is back will he resort to that poxy cut under the ball cross which is as useful an offensive weapon as a sponge sword.

I hear you barking. I don't think Lennon will ever add any more strings to his bow. Or whatever the expression is.

Yeah, there's way too much Western crossing.
We should go for some Orthodox crossing (i'm sure that would suit Pav more).
Or maybe even a bit of coptic.

But there again...it is necessary, the vamps are biting at the moment, so, I guess, it's best to take the necessary precautions. I'll provide our squad with strings of garlic.
