I have a friend who plays for Cruzeiro and I have been told they are selling a lot of players. I will begin with the story regarding Moreno. We have had a £4M bid turned down for him, and Shaktar have had a £7M bid rejected. Man United, Liverpool and R. Madrid want him, and they are obviously his preference.

In non-Spurs related news:
Goalkeeper Fabio is said to be joining Fiorentina.
Midfielder Ramires is said to be joining PSG
Guilherme will join Porto

Is he really that good?

Would he get a work permit?

Edit: just checked wiki
24 goals in 36 for Vitoria
19 in 32 for Cruzeiro

and 2 in 4 for Bolivia.

45 goals in 72 career apperances. 0.625 goals a game, or 5 in every 8, at a good level, too. Sounds impressive, and only 20 years old. Still a concern for me about the work permit, don't you need to have played 75% of national team games over the last two years, OR, have special dispensation (which Carlos Vela still can't get)?

This was posted by Knarf on DS, who lives & works in Brazil:

Been scanning the football gossip sites here in Brazil this morning for any mention of DC and us being linked to players. I was a little disappointed not to find anything other than rehashes of the Moreno story but the Copa Liberadores is dominating at the moment so I guess DC will be taking in some of the games.
If he's here to talent spot then a poll amongst some of my students last night identified the following young players as ones to target:
Sidnei - Internacional - Central defender
Marcinho - Flamengo - Midfielder
Geraldo - Náutico - Midfielder
Michael - Coritiba - Attacking Midfielder Left
Hernanes - Sao Paulo - Midfielder (previously mentioned by me)
and surprisingly 2 non-Brazilians were mentioned:
Palacio - Boca Juniors - Striker
and
Cáceres - Boca Juniors - Fullback
It´ll be interesting to see if any of these names become linked with Spurs over the next few weeks.

Hernanes is amazing! Massive future ahead of him. I would spew sex juice if he came to tottenham! Would never happen though.

BTW, Caceres is a centre back, or atleast that's where I've seen him play in the last few matches. I've been interested in the Copa Libertadores this year

Thiago Neves is also a great player but I wouldn't put him in the young bracket

I thought Moreno was a term for a dark skinned person?

It's more like heavily tanned than dark skin (i.e. black).

Pele also used to mean balck skinned person, nowadays not so much, racism doesn't really exist in Brazil, at least not in the way it does here, so these kinds of nicknames (and worse) are acceptable.

Brazilian football is still the best, in it's raw state...before the natural skill is removed by the European 'system' coaches etc. There are still many untapped riches to be found there...but I am just reiterating the obvious....Time to doze again COYS!
