Sky commentary team can hear the VAR conversation and apparently the best that VAR could come up with was it "may have" hit Ayew's arm so they couldn't overturn it.

I thought I could clearly see the balls movement change after he chested it but it's one of those subjective decisions that even VAR won't be able to get rid off.
Everyone could see it, unfortunately VAR are going to be terrified to make that type of call now after the uproar Liverpool caused.

Neville is a proper knobber. The way he casually says “if arsenal slip up..” they’ve been largely irrelevant for the best part of 8 years in the league, 1 season challenging where they capitulated and suddenly they are the team to beat in his eyes.

That one angle they zoomed in on clearly showed the ball changed direction after passing his arm.

Farcical the goal was given.

Need to finish off these games better and Porro needs a rocket there as that one fuck up flipped the whole game on its head. Especially away from home..
He was never getting near it, so to sell himself like that was totally brainless.

After the first goal it felt like we put our Man City cap on. Just slowing everything down and being methodical. Wasn’t the most entertaining game tbh and the first half I thought we were poor but sometimes you need to win clever and that’s what we did.

Carragher is talking fucking bollocks here post match completely dismissing us. You don't know if we don't have the quality or the squad. We haven't even gotten out of second gear yet! We stay fit we have an amazing chance at the title.

Have you seen how good Vicario, Romero, VDV, Udogie, and Porro (yes, one mistake today, also great defending on a chance after that misstep) are? We're not conceding unless WE are the ones making the mistakes - check back at our goals conceded. Teams aren't doing it to us. They aren't breaking us down.

Have you seen how many quality chances we create attacking? How much possession we have? How good we are off the ball in our pressing? Palace were organized here at their park, but we were well on top the whole match and our quality showed.

Our midfield has so much quality in it and so much depth. We're fucking in with a shout and it is scaring all of them.

We need to stick out chest out as supporters. It's a long old season and we may not do it, but the truth that they don't want to admit is we have just a good a chance as any of the other boys.

All VAR had to look at to know that the ball rolled down Ayew's arm was the way it bounced up with enough spin to move it towards goal. If it doesn't hit his arm it doesn't pop up at that angle.

Would have been fucking fuming had it cost us.

Anyway, COYS.

2 cards for them both in injury time. We always seem to get the ref who decides to be lenient with cards when it's only the other team doing all the fouling.

At least we'll get a week of the media going on about VAR going against Spurs though. Looking forward to that

Gotta love that refs have progressed from not booking the opposition to allowing handballs that lead to goals. Next up: opposition get unlimited subs and no one has to come off.

Palace comitted 19 fouls and got 2 yellows. The irony being that Ayew got his yellow for dissent and not any of the 8 fouls he committed in the game.

Not going to worry about the goal.

I watched as many replays as the VAR official - and there just was not a definitive view of the ball touching his arm. He was pulling it away as the ball was dropping, so it was impossible to see any contact. Just one of those things.

The direction of the ball is all you need to know, it moved in the direction of the goal because it hit his arm, it would've been impossible for that to happen just by hitting his chest in the position he was standing in.

How can Neville say we aren't challengers when we're literally top and challenging right now. Not saying it will last but the fact is the fact.
