Happy enough with that, it's a cup final for Palace today, we've created a few chances and haven't been massively stretched. They've come out hard and their fans were singing themselves silly, but both are tiring already.

We look nervous. But pretty confident we will score in the second half. Soldado isn't getting a sniff, but mainly due to poor balls going into the box. We need to cross earlier, and not run to within 3ft of the goal before releasing the ball.

Walker still irritates me. He gets himself in a good position and then loses it, but always gives a foul away trying to win it back. It's almost predictable.

Indeed. Dawson awful. Lennon wasteful. Chadli weak and no threat. Fullbacks have done ok. Sig mostly anonymous.

Got lots to improve on and where is the service to Soldado? Need to do much better than this.

First game of the season, but we really need to improve.

What we lack is a modric or Carrick type player who starts of attacks from deep by playing the ball forward. All our midfielders are great athletes but can't move the ball quick enough.

Early thoughts on the new signings:

Chadli: Bit of a dead end, got a lot of the ball but has done nothing with it tonight.

Paulinho: Good start, moving well, could have more influence.

Soldier: Trying hard, getting into good positions.

Otherwise; get your head up Lennon, Sigurdsson needs to keep playing it forward and Rose is slowly getting involved.

3 new players in and several still missing so can't be too harsh. Not the best 45 mins ever but certainly not the worst! COYS!

Not sure why Walker is getting stick on here. He's been our most positive player, and the reason Lennon has gotten in so many good positions (and wasted them).
