Think its more that he only wants one full back on the bench. Vertonghen is the only cover for Rose, whereas both Alderweireld and Dier can cover for Trippier if needs be

I, personally, would have played Walker for this game, just to keep Zaha honest. Tripp has a chance to show he has enough positional sense and grit to make up for his lack of pace.

His attacking play, we know, will be good.

For me Lamela was the obvious to be replaced by Son. They play a similar role, and Lamela has looked a bit leggy. Even if you disagree though there's room to admit it's a judgement call. Why do you think it's a no brainer that Alli should be dropped before Lamela?
