Was this thread a shitshow again?

Or should I say "outburst by real passionate fans™"
I haven't read any of it from during the match, but I'd bet my house on that being the case.
Some right melts on here these days...sorry, I mean real passionate fans™

looking back at the game I cant remember a game where we gave the ball away so much. I think nerves really got to us last night. We have got to try and manage the expectation better and just play our game there were too many players panicking last night. Even Toby Jan and Dembele were guilty and they should be better prepared. And calm the younger players. We got over the line and I think this will do us no end of good. but we are playing after Chelsea again so Poch needs to get into them about this.

Gotta give Palace some credits, they were off to a flying start with their energy and pressing.. Us giving the balls away are not us being atrocious, but Palace were hungrier and more adventurous, helped no less by the home crowd and some ref decisions coming against us.. They were not afraid to come at us and we got booked and got frustrated with that..

That said, we controlled the game after 20+ minutes and were limiting Benteke to hopeful balls to him..

2nd half, with Son coming on, Palace spent more time defending against him and became less threatening.. Sakho coming off was a blow for them too.. But after the hour mark, Palace energy was no match to us anymore, and only relying on just their wingers to create, but Sissoko and Son were helping out in defending too.. Our fitness level outlasted them and that was a crucial factor last night IMHO.. At the last 6th game of the season, this definitely is one great attribute to finish the season strongly..

All in all, we were jittery to begin the game, understandably, but controlled it all the way after that and we are a deservedly winner..

That was some omega level tactics from Poch.

Just Kept changing formations and personal like a hacker trying to crack security.

Landed on the right solution, Sissoko and Walker totally killed Zaha threat. And Davies deeper was comfortable against townsend who is barely average without alot of space with Son helping to keep that side pushed back

Magic Indeed
Anyone enjoy his little jog down the tunnel at half time?

He knew he had his work cut out

 to be fair...so was I for about the first 78 minutes of the match!
nah, first half maybe, but second half we ruined them, was a matter of time.
Ive never really felt this way in 30 odd years of supporting Spurs, its weird, and i like it.

absolutely...second half was comfortable but I started to think that winning goal was going to elude us.

Thank fuck for Eriksen.

Even the 7 minutes going up wasn't a concern - that's usually when I'd start shitting it.

No reason to suggest that wasn't our most difficult game left, fantastic performance from the lads there
I don't think that was our toughest fixture. Arsenal will probably be difficult to beat, utd haven't lost in forever and are on a great steak, fighting for top 4 and if Leicester turn up then that will be difficult.

Haha...through the second half i kept looking at the clock and thinking..."its ok, there'll be loads of time added on"...then the board went up and i swore loudly lol.

Would that have been more humorous if we were battling relegation or midtable?

I suspect people would have viewed it less seriously. Our current position has a lot of panties in a bunch. Anyway you win some you lose some.

Can we not hide in the corner with the ball, I know it gives Sissoko a pupose, but we don't win by waiting for the others to die of boredom, we take it to them.

Maybe last night was justified with the slim scorline and the pressure cooker atmosphere, But no more.

Yeah lets be like Liverpool and concede late on by trying to score in the 93rd minute....great idea.

When Dier was seen in between Toby and Jan, I think we are seeing a back 4, with Dier as one of the CM2 dropping back to form a 3 at the back as and when needed.. That was a norm last season..

Whatever it is, I am quite delighted, and astonished TBH, to see how flexible our players are in changing the formation and roles as required by Poch.. Dier, Eriksen, even to some extent Sissoko.. They just did so well..

Special shout-out to Dier, one cannot just expect a player to fit into any role and play with the guts like he does.. He may not be perfect yet, but I realy do not see anyone in the league as utilitarian as him.. and there are some who want him sold to manure my lord.........

At the start it was clearly a back three and my thought is that he is a bit taller and stronger than Toby when faced against Benteke. But when we flipped formation it was clearly Dier in mid and dropping back at times.

But agree. The utility of a lot of our squad is amazing
