We've got Kaboul, Dawson and Bassong in terms of younger players. I am of the view that getting King and Woodgate off the wage bill is important. I don't know the terms we resigned Ledley under, and he is a special case as an icon of the club, but we should release Woodgate in the summer, I'm afraid to say. He's earned the prize money for the quarter final this season.

How much are we paying King a week? (just out of curiosity)
There was talk a year or so ago that he was going to be reduced to £40k per week. But then they were also saying he would only get a pay as you play deal so fuck knows.

two things on this

1) harry is alway using chatting shit, playing down our chances, kidology crap one week. then the next week super optomistic, we can rule the world crap the next. Bad call from him to talk about any payer like that in the public imo.

2) talksport poorly reported the interview and filled in lots of gaps with thier own theory despite the fact noone actually said much other than it's hard to keep playeing without training.

He was on the bench. thats as close as you can get to a game without playing in it. The reports of his demised therefore seem factually much further away than suggestions he's close to playing.

How many times have we heard harry say this ? then one of these "lets get rid of King" threads pops up, then King ends up playing.

Ledley was on the bench against MILAN, if he was not ready to play he would not be there.

What Harry says is all mind games, he tries to get to get the best out of players.

Ledley will be playing for spurs for a few more years in my opinion.

I think the quotes were poorly explained. He's been training for two weeks or so now. He had a groin problem that he had an operation on.

What's Harry said about Ledley that's so terrible?

It is pretty crazy that he can turn out without training and still put in top-level performances. How long is he going to be able to do this? Who knows? However, common sense suggests it can't go on forever.

too many people have written him off over the years. I do think the injuries are catching up on him now but untill King says he cant/wont play anymore then I still believe

Ledley King and Michael Dawson have been Tottenham's best central defence partnership this season with an average of just 0.33 goals conceded per match.

Individually, Ledley King has the best record of any of our central defenders this season with an average of 0.86 goals conceded per game...

Hopefully we'll get to finish the season in the top four or holders of the European cup and we have a nice pre-season with ledley. It's probably training too much when he was younger that's done this to his natural fitness. I hope they use 'periodisation' with some of our younger players, already seeing a young regular like Bale pick up awkward injuries.
