We always get the worst of everything.

Chelsea get bought-up by an extravagant Russian billionaire. Arsenal still might (if not, they're fine as they are anyways). man Utd get bought up by an extravagant American. Same with Villa. Ham get bought up by an extravagant and rather biazarre Icelandic.

Etc etc.

What do we get? Kemsley. Shit.

Can't someone alert Mr William Gates to the possible sale of our club?

That's the man who, if anyone was to buy us out, i would hope could get a proper deal together.

Mr MVP - Steve Nash, last seen at our game against Derby (i think), but no paper picked up on that one, eh?

He's a massive, massive Spurs fan and is all that and then some for the Suns - It fascinates me in a careless kind of way. He's a Yido, a winner and a Canadian national hero for playing in the NBA... you can't buy that kind of publicity, but it can buy us if it wants

I'd prefer a sportsman with some passion for the club, over a fat builder.

I don't know much about Kemsley except what i've read about here on SC. However, he did use a revealing metaphor to explain his visit with Ramos. You'll recall that trying to explain his actions that night he said it was done in response to his fear that Jol would leave for another job. His metaphor was to the effect that "if you think your wife is going to leave you, you go looking for another woman." WRONG!! If you think your wife is going to leave you you actually talk to her to see whether she is really going or you're paranoid. You don't go making it worse by trying a pre-emptive strike. That told me all I needed to know about PK. I'm sorry he's anywhere near the boardroom.

No matter, how much you dislike the Express, there's certainly a semblance of reason to their report.

Lol - very well put!:rofl:

I think Kemsley's actions amount to publicly dating another woman in the presence of paparazzi to see precisely how jealous and upset your wife will get.

Unsurprizingly, BMJ took a very dim view of Kemsley's clumsy two-timing...

An extravagant Russian billionaire who undermined and then sacked the most successful coach in Chelsea's history.

Arsenal really don't want to know about Usmanov, and they have good reason to be concerned.

You should check out what United fans think of their 'benefactors'.

Villa's sugar daddy at least seems to be taking a back seat and letting MON do his thing.

Which bizarre Icelander are you talking about? Eggy, or the one who's the real power, who seems not to want to stray too far from home for fear of a sudden fatal dose of lead poisoning?

Then you have 'Frank' Shinawatra, and Carson Yeung, who will doubtless want to re-christen Birmingham City as Yeung Boys Birmingham. (Sorry, couldn't resist that.)

Be careful what you wish for.

How about, if Levy/Lewis do start making moves to sell the club, we all get together and either a) Write to the club and tell them we don't really want them to go, especially if the Zeppelin Kemsleyberg is looking at a bid, or b) we all write to Steve Nash, begging him to seriously get in there before the human physical and moral equivalent of landfill takes the reigns. He loves the club, sure he'd understand

This is exactly what I've been mulling over for the past couple of months. Barcelona is owned entirely by its fans, who elect the board, take decisions on club sponsorship (ie it was they that decided they didn't want to sell advertising on their kit but would allow Unicef to advertise there for free) and so on. It seems to work for them so there really is no reason why a club in the Premier League couldn't do it too.

Say the club has a market value of $250m. We'd need 125,000 fans to invest £2,000 each to buy the club. Or 50,000 fans investing £5,000 each. Now I reckon if we were absolutely serious it could be done.

Oh - and to generate some extra cash I think we should suspend that fat prick Kelmsley in a glass box David Blaine style above the pitch and leave him there for a month, charging admission through the turnstiles to come and see him. Punters could pay extra to be able to use a remote control helicopter to hover a Big Mac next to the box..................

Rather one sided view.

Roman has also brought about the most successful period (I think) in Chelsea's history.

Usmanov has done nothing to be judged by in terms of being football chairman. Neither has Carson Yeung or Shinawatra.

Man Utd initially revolted big time against there new regime. A premier league title later and backing to the tune of 50mil or there abouts in this window and I think most of them would of come around. Seasons tickets have continued to escalate but so have ours.

West Ham have spent shed loads. Most of it on distinctly average players but you can't blame the chairman for that.

And Villa seem to be moving in the right direction as well.

Liverpool have got new owners and they've immediately pushed ahead with the stadium plans and are getting ready to move to a brand shiny new stadium.

Not that I'm advocating a Billionaire owner. I think were fine with who we got. But I think most people fans of Chelsea, Man Utd, Villa, West Ham and Liverpool would be happy with there new owners.

Jesus fucking Christ, I think the bandwagon's getting a bit overloaded you fucking sheep.

How many of you morons know anything about Kemsley at all? So many posts abusing him, and saying how much you hate him, but very few reasons being posted?

Rocksuperstar said:
Kemsley is of the Kenyon/Dein/Murdoch mold - he sees football as nothing more than a way for him to make money. Beyond that i doubt he cares what it is he's in charge of, as long as it makes him money.

You are a thoughtless **** whose only concern is whether or not you can make a few quid on it. Just because you employed the right people to make you rich, it doesn't make you smart or deserving of respect.

I'd prefer a sportsman with some passion for the club, over a fat builder.

A typical ignorant ****. Just what the fuck are you babbling about?

Even if you have your reasons for hating Kemlsey (and I suspect they amount to "he got photographed with Ramos" and "everyone else hates him") you can't deny that he is Tottenham through and through, and a proper fan. I have no doubt he has been supporting Tottenham a whole lot longer than you.

But they're not mega-rich sugar daddys like Abramovich - all that money is loans and it's borrowed against the club. The fans are directly paying for it with their season tickets and if it all goes tits up, the debt belongs to the club, not the Glazers.

And Shinawatra is as bent as a nine bob note.

feeling the love

My problem with Kemsley is that when he was first appointed he said he hoped his experience as a fan could help him in his role, but it is pretty obvious that, despite being a passionate fan, his loyalties now lie in the board room, first and foremost.

I admit, i generally have a problem with most property developers and ruthless business types, but he conducts himself like some kind of gangster. Whether it's his style or the boards option to be so visible and high profile in their work, i don't know, but from my perspective all i see is a rich bloke who wants to get richer and, if the opportunity came along to invest in another club, he would.

Besides, who's this fella he's meant to be in with? Someone currently associated with another club - there was an article about him on here a while ago, but buggered if i can find it now...

It's nothing personal to you RSS, the majority of my post is directed at everyone who is unnecessarily abusing him. You just bore the brunt due to your numerous remarks about him not being a proper fan, as if when you become rich you can no longer be a proper fan anymore.

I know you'd like him a lot more if he rode a bicycle to work, wore a tweed jacket and worked for Greenpeace, but that's sadly not the case.

Tweeed is my natural enemy  Every superhero had to have one when we signed up, i chose Tweeed, which also explains my aversion to Biffer Tweeedy of Girls Aloud i guess :|

And i don't mind you aiming it at me, i hadn't noticed it was much different to your normal replies to my posts, but now you mention it you did post it with a distinct Isle of Wight accent...

WHOA!!

Are you Paul Kemsley in disguise?

As it happens I agree with you, perhaps not so fiercely but as I understand it Kelmsley is behind the obtaining of all the land around the ground for the club, he started about four years ago and has done it quietly in a proffessional manner avoiding any mention of redevelopement and therefore evading the vendors holding out for silly money. I think he's done a good job so far.
