I'm guessing he is the GLC plan B?

This would make sense. It’s clear to me we want two guys capable of playing in the middle. I don’t think any signing of Ceballos would be related to an Eriksen move though, I don’t think Madrid want him.

We desperately need guys in the middle that can play. Both Eriksen and Adele had “down years” but they were both being asked to do a lot of extra work deeper that doesn’t always show in the stats. Then when they did transition higher up the pitch again they weren’t at their most incisive but I think both will bounce back with consistent roles again.

Personally we should see what's going to happen with Onomah. I don't see anything special in Ceballos that Onomah can't do.
Get into the national U-21 team...;)

(Yes I know Onomah is 22 and played for the U-21s)

Compilation vs Italy - great goal - reminds of Winks but Ceballos tends to thrive in the attacking third more.

Compilation vs Poland - shitty music included. Great freekick , some nice touches and passes.

Think he’s very decent just not had the game time at Real. Watched that game against Poland and he literally ran it. If Onomah has had a match anywhere near that in the championship please share :LOL:

Play for Real? That’s something Eriksen is struggling to do...
So does Bale, that doesn't mean he can't offer anything Onomah or Nkoudou would.

I am aware people in UK rarely watch football outside their own league/national team, but equating Ceballos to Onomah is dangerously close to being ignorant. Guy is a real talent, he plays brilliantly for Spain in U21 Euros and got MVP award in 2017's U21 Euros, while Onomah struggled in Championship for two seasons in a row. I'm sure he would do just fine for us, if club decided to go for it.

Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against Josh and I wish him all the best, but my support doesn't make him better football player than he is.

I suppose it’s just as ignorant as when I said Harry Winks is just as good as De Jong

I find it very odd that we’ve been linked to him every day in the Spanish press for like 2 weeks. Very persistent even though I can’t really see how he’d fit into our summer and we’ve had ITK we aren’t interested. Someone (agent, RM?) is really pushing this and I don’t understand it.

We’ve since had ITK that we are interested but he isn’t a priority. I’d suspect that he’s plan B to Lo Celso.

If Eriksen is staying and Betis won’t budge on the money then why not? He looks a great little player. Would cost maybe half the money, wages lower. And would push Eriksen to up his game. I can’t see us paying big money for lo Celso if we get Dombele. He’s running games just like Eriksen did when he was younger.

Good point. If reports that Betis want us to pay out the entire £88m release clause for GLC, we can take our business to Madrid and negotiate for Ceballos as reports put the asking price between £40 - £45m. Just want us to get Ndombele in first and we can re-evaluate from there.

Betis Web has discussed him as one of the main alternatives for Lo Celso. He came from Betis prior to going to Madrid. My personal opinion is that the media may have been tipped to interest in Ceballos to put pressure on Betis. If you don't sell us Lo Celso, we'll go for your targeted replacement at a lesser amount, leaving you with an unhappy player in your squad (that wished to leave).

As ignorant as generalising an entire nation of people?

Anyway - U21 UEFA Euro Final is today in about an 1 and 20 mins from now.

Spain vs Germany and Ceballos is most likely set to start.
