This is incredibly sad. So young, and a man at the peak of physical fitness. Can happen to anybody.
Shocking that this seems to be happening more reguarly last few years. RIP
Surely "high standards of fitness" would include proper and serious concern for the conditions of the players heart? I mean it's all well and good to indulge in regular cardio-vascular exercises, to target your diet around keeping your insides shiney and new but it's quite apparent that there is either too much pressure on players to be as fit as is humanly possible, then another 10% on top, or there's a problem with the screening and tests that are done by clubs' medical staff.Unfortunatly, it could be the amount of football played and the high standard of fitness now demanded by coaches thats to blame IMVHO
