Rolls eyes.

"However, the report then claims that the Tottenham chairman is ‘stalling’ because he’s still unsure about what to do."

It’s incredible how long the appointment is taking when compared to chelsea or Bayern. It’s like Levy has a block in this particular function

It's not too far out tbh. The 3 is currently down to 2.
With the rumours that JN wants a full-on “you’re our hero” approach, this makes me nervous we’ll stall on going balls deep for him while Levy sorts his shit out…leaving us with only Slot. Now Slot might be the best choice, but I’d hope if it’s him it’s because we chose him, not cos we’ve pissed about for too long. Time for a new Avatar I guess….

You know, I’d almost prefer slot to nagelsmann, we’ve had the bug names and they don’t seem to work, let’s reset with a lesser name and try that route, cos let’s be honest nagelsmann isn’t gonna get the backing he wants/requires.

In the current toxic atmosphere around the club, it would be a no-win situation for any incoming manager to be too closely associated with Levy. Far better to wait until our new Director of Football Operations takes office to sign off the deal and shares the responsibility.

Gonna be him or Nagelsmann isn’t it?

Feyenoord should wrap up the title in the next couple of weeks so that gives us a bit of time to get Nagelsmann. If we can’t get the German then I suspect we will go for Slot. I think that’s a solid strategy.

this may already have been discussed but will JN require big backing? if so, is there any point?

And Levy would get crucified the first time we dropped points under Slot. He's given the fans 2 managers in a row that they were beying for and both turned out to be bad appointments. Does he try for the next big name in Nagelsmann or take a flyer on Slot? He's on a hiding to nothing either way and people are queueing up to put the boot in.

Given the fact it was Gattuso or Nuno last time to now be Nagelsmann or Slot just feels so so much better. I know things are crap right now but in fully confident that they will get a lot better. And as Trix has said, I agree that it can actually happen quite quickly with either of these two. And the best bit is....

That’s true.
Personally I’d like us to appoint someone who really wants the job, as opposed to Conte and Mourinho, who treated Spurs like they were doing us a favour.

we’ve got some excellent players and it won’t take too much to get us challenging again.

Sounds good, but we all know the wheels can fall off at any moment. Getting it done quickly is hardly our strong point.

Hang on. Fans “beying” for Conte and Mourinho? That’s not my recollection at all, especially with Mourinho. Conte was more “anyone but Nuno” but a lot weren’t keen either.

respectfully disagree. If there is a clear plan (that is followed) and there is progress on the pitch (style wise) and we can see the improvement… like when poch 1st arrived, I don’t think there would be.

we know what we are at the moment, and that is not a very good team, any sane supporter will know this is going to take a couple of windows and a season or 2 to sort out.

as long as there is steady progress and the manager is being allowed to implement his ethos/style/players etc etc, I for one would accept it, and it’s not just another stick to beat levy with, yes he’s fine fantastic things off field with the infrastructure, but tis down to him that he’s allowed the rot to set so far into the club that we’re in this mess now. He’s had THREE fantastic managers saying the same thing about the playing squad, but he’s not listened and has sacked said managers instead of doing the right thing and getting rid of those players that blatantly aren’t good enough.

man’s if we’re led ti believe the media etc, he’s now willing to offer one of the worse offenders in Eric dier a new 3 yr contract! There is NO WAY, he gets in ANY of the top 6 squads, let alone starting 11 week in week out.

Yeah the conte one is quite nuanced and I think show Levy trying to do the right thing but always shooting himself in the foot.

His initial decision in the summer to stop conte talks and say they weren't aligned in the longterm has proved to be right. However then going against his own beliefs and allowing himself to be convinced by Paratici that Nuno was a good fit....was a disaster.

So as you say by the time Nuno went it became a scramble of can we save the season. And tbf it did....we got 4th. However in saving that season we tanked this one!

Nagelsmann isn't that kind of a manager, I mean it was because of the "big name players" that he fell foul at Bayern.
I think Slot is an interesting choice, but it's a brave one because Feyenoord winning might be a one off, i.e. Slot struck gold this season but would return to normailty next season/ is he a one season success?

Nagelsmann has a longer sustained pedigree, but isn't (as fas as I know), after a mega club with mega craziness, or let's face it, he would already be at Chelsea.
