Hytner's review of our transfer window. He suggests, fairly convincingly, that last minute bids were predictably likely to fail and that Poch will be unhappy with the outcome.

I'd say he's right about there being a bit of extra pressure now. We could use some good results and performances (and luck with injuries) in the coming weeks or you could see the old record of the blame game starting to emerge again. Hytner concludes with "the team desperately need a win at Sunderland on Sunday week".

I suggest Hytner reads the "window wrap up" article on the official site, link on our front page.

BBC Sport's David Ornstein on Jeremy Peace

"Some at West Brom encouraged chairman Jeremy Peace to find an agreement with Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy, even within the final hour of the window, but Peace refused.
"It is also understood that at no point in this saga did Peace give Tottenham a price that might secure the player, hence the prolonged chase and multiple bids.
"There is serious concern at West Brom about the effect this will have dressing room morale, with Berahino not in a state of mind to play and not one of the more popular figures among team-mates."
Berahino has been left out of West Brom's last two Premier League games and Capital One Cup tie with Port Vale, with manager Tony Pulis saying he was not in the right frame of mind to play.
