I voted to get rid of him. I wouldn't mind him as a backup, but he thinks far too much of himself to be a squad player. You can clearly see by his body language and attitude on the pitch that he thinks he's the real deal. He thinks he's made it and is too good to be anything other than a first teamer. At a team like Sunderland, fighting in the lower half of the table, sure. Not for us.

As a winger he wasn't good enough, so Redknapp shoved him into left back. I think he's even worse there. He'll make bursts forwards but he has no work rate in wanting to track back, and his positional sense is woeful. Simply put he went through his entire youth career never having to develop defensive abilities, and that's why he hasn't got them. Naughton clearly can't play left back, the side doesn't work for him, but he's a better right back than Rose is a left back.

I'd rather give Fryers more time to develop there. Sadly, I don't think we'll be bringing in a new left back this summer. I don't know what our priorities will be, in all honesty, but I've got a feeling we'll end up sticking with Rose.
Surely surely surely any new manager will put Benny above him?

Totally forgot about Benny! Has he even done well at QPR? I mean, if he hasn't then I can't see why he'd be getting a look-in over Rose. Regardless, Benny before he left us was head and shoulder over Rose. At least he knew how to play left back, even if he made his fair share of mistakes. Then again, look at Rose's mistakes. NLD and Rosicky comes to mind...

I really try hard not to dislike any Spurs player, but I can't help it when it comes to Rose. He must give the opposition a confidence boost every time his name appears in our line-up.

I don't rate him as a footballer, and based on his on-field behaviour and off-field social media comments, I don't rate him as a person either.

No, by all accounts he's been generally shit at QPR I believe. However there are extenuating arguments to make, not least of all he very clearly didn't want to be there & didn't deserve to be either.

Keep as backup, helps the HG quota as well as I truly believe he can improve under the right manager. Though he was injured for most of AVB's reign at the start of the season, we were all singing his praises of having an attacking FB like him (though tbf before him we'd been spoilt by BAE and Naughton) and tbh we don't have anyone better than him at LB atm and I'd rather we focus on getting one LB instead of two. If his crossing was slightly better I would have no problem with him competing for first choice, maybe the lack of competition this year has left him complacent. I do believe that under the right system such as a 4-3-3 or a 3-at-the-back, where he's not relied on as much defensively (and he can do a BAE job and stand on the touch line ) and provide width he will be more than adequate and we'll soon forget about any shortcomings of his. (After all, Sunderland fans bloody loved him last season)

Yes his arrogance and whining about playing time makes my blood boil (the bloody pigeon-chested prick) I can't see Fryers making back-up yet, he really needs a loan out to a club like Aston Villa or Burnley where he will be used and focused on. I can't make up my mind yet whether he's a CB or LB as to me he looks exceptionally raw in both positions (I'll admit I do question why we paid £3 million for him when Hotlby cost exactly half that, even though he was out of contract). I do like Fryers but to make him 2nd choice LB for next season is just too early for him.

Can we move this thread into Transfer Rumours? I know no-one has been rumoured to be after him, but if we start the ball rolling... ?

Sherwood didn't and I can imagine he rates Harry's opinion. That says a lot to me.

Unless of course he couldn't be recalled but I think he could have been. In an ideal world I wouldn't want either starting regularly for us, either one as backup would be OK though I guess.

As far as I understand a loan fee was paid so he couldn't be recalled.

As for the bolded part, says a lot to me too. But I'm not sure if that is the same thing to me & to you (Harry's opinion is not far off invalid to me)

Keep as back up as I think we need the English player quota numbers.

We have Fryers as back up who i think is better than Rose. Doesn't get up the field and attack as much as Rose but that doesn't matter when Rose can't cross to save his life.

Definitely keep Fryers as back up. Rose is simply not good enough. Rash in the challenge, lazy at getting back, poor quality in last third, poor aerially. Could keep going all night on this one.

Think it's a position we can dramatically upgrade at not a huge cost ie. someone like Ben Davies from Swansea.
