You know despite everything, I agree with Rose said. he spoke from the heart, he spoke about the club's interests and his own. He is clearly affected by the way things are going because he's ambitious. I don't think it was the shocking revelations the Sun tried to style it as. A great interview though.

Rose said what we've all said on here. We can't criticise him. I take back what i said earlier. DANNy, DANNY ROSE!
Speaking from the heart means fuck all, there is such a thing called tact, Trump is praised for "speaking from the heart" and being "honest". The interview was nothing but damaging to the club, and a selfish move, plain and simple. He is not a supporter, he is a player, he should conduct himself in professional manor.

Main problem is that he's indirectly slagged off a lot of his teammates, which I can't see going down too well.

That's the thing, he's done so much more than just state he wants out, he's completely opened up his big fat mouth about things that didn't need to be put out there for everyone to read.

Imagine if every player expressed such opinions and concerns at their respective clubs? There'd be anarchy everywhere, there's a reason why some things are just meant to be kept within the club or the person.

I couldnt say things like that in the media or on social media about my company or colleagues, I would be sacked.

The only difference is I wouldn't walk into a competitor a week later, and on double the wages

He knew what he was doing.

Let him sit in the reserves all year.

Also him being angry he was criticised in his early days while at the same time attacking 'having to google unknown players' shows a shocking lack of self awareness.

That was you Danny, the was Dele Alli or Harry Kane, not big hitters not known, how can he not see he is pissing on the model, that created him and most of his team mates?

Wonder if he has been told to say this to force a move. Some of the points are so seemingly targeted it's as if they are coming from Mourinho, crazy conspiracy theory probably, but I wouldnt put it past Jose.

No. If my workplace punished poor behaviour by shipping me out to a higher profile employer for 3x the money with less barriers to success I'd have shat on my boss' desk and stolen his car by now...

Time to draw a line in the sand now. We set a dangerous precedent otherwise.

Couldnt agree more. No one else in our first choice defence leaves this window. He can rehabilitate himself in, or come back from injury, not get played, screw his WC chances and perhaps the interest of some bigger clubs. We have time on our side.

The alternative could lead to a situation that snowballs quickly - Rose goes, Toby doesn't extend - then all of a sudden somehow 3 out of 5 players of the top defence in the PL is gone. And then what do Lloris and Vertonghen think ?

It can't be allowed to happen this window. Even if worst case scenario we simply kick this problematic can down the road a little to buy ourselves some time and another transfer window to pass by

A journalist would contact his agent to arrange the interview (how much etc...) or the agent will contact the journalist. The agent would then sit in on the interview to make sure his client doesn't fuck himself (unless as it seems in this case he wants to).

Agreed, the fact he is still in rehab should actually ease the process of weathering the storm. Up to him how this develops after Sept 1st.

Nobody, the club or the fans, should focus only on making Rose the villain in this. There are clearly problems at the club. Walker probably expressed the same views in private (as Rose should have) and was probably sold because of it. Our older players are going to be less patient (proabably why Toby hasn't signed) and eventually this may influence the younger ones. This could easily become the tip of the iceberg that could unltimately end up with MP deciding he cannot achieve his goals.

This may be a while off, but if these issues aren't acknowledge and managed it could well be reality. We have already seen the senior recruitment team leave out of frustration. If players are unhappy the coaching team could well follow.
Rose is the one airing dirty laundry to the press, that's schoolboy stuff. Can fault his honesty all day, with his logic we wouldn't have bought him and his google search needing ass

SPLASH THE CASH
Tottenham ace Danny Rose admits ‘we need two or three big buys’ and not players you have to Google to find out who they are

DANNY ROSE admits he is in awe of Manchester City and Chelsea’s squad strength — and has urged his Tottenham bosses to strike back in the transfer market.

The England left-back has singled out unsettled Everton ace Ross Barkley as one of the two or three top-class stars he believes Spurs should recruit.

As the blunt-speaking Yorkshireman put it: “I am not saying buy ten players, I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, ‘Who’s that?’ I mean well-known players.”

Spurs are the only Premier League side not to have bought during the summer window.

And while Rose does not want the club to lose their admirable reputation for promoting youth, he claims Mauricio Pochettino’s squad needs fresh blood.

Rose, Tottenham’s long-serving current player having joined ten years ago, said: “Under Harry Redknapp we signed Rafa van der Vaart. It was like, ‘Wow, how did he do that?’

“I mean signings like that are what we need — that’s just my opinion.

“There are three weeks to go until the window shuts and you look at Man City and think, ‘If the window shut now they would be happy with the business they have done’.

Man United, more or less, are there — although I hear Mourinho may want one or two more players — but I am sure he’d be happy with his squad.

“As a Tottenham player I’d love to see more signings. It would lift me seeing a top player come through the door.

“I’ve seen a couple of players previously saying, ‘We don’t need a top signing or signings’. But I am sorry, I am not singing off the same hymn-sheet on that one.

“I think we do need one or two top signings to strengthen the squad. I’m just not buying the idea that we don’t need anyone.”

Rose watched Tottenham’s 3-0 pre-season loss to City in Nashville last month — and had a similar sensation to seeing his team’s 4-2 FA Cup semi-final defeat against Chelsea in April.

The injured defender, 27, said: “I know it was only pre-season but I watched the game against Man City and I was just in awe of City.

“They only had Kyle Walker, Danilo and the goalkeeper Ederson out of the players they’ve just bought.

“Speaking to some lads when they got back, they’re saying: ‘City are taking off £200million and then they are bringing on Aguero, Toure and Sane’. That just speaks volumes to me.

“Anyone who says we don’t need any signings, I’m not buying into that.

“As a starting 11 we have one of the best in the league, without a shadow of a doubt, but after that . . .

“We played Chelsea in the Cup semi — Costa, Hazard and Cahill didn’t play.

“After 60 minutes, Conte has brought on Fabregas, Hazard and Costa and they’ve changed the match.

“I thought to myself, ‘Could we ever afford to play against a top team and afford to have Harry Kane, Dele Alli and a top centre-back not playing?’

“No disrespect to anyone but I don’t think we could do that and Chelsea did that to us. They’re still in the game, they bring on Costa, Hazard and Fabregas and they won.

“I definitely feel we need to bolster the squad.

“Under Harry, there were two Premier League-class players for every position. We are finishing even higher under Mauricio but we don’t have that depth now.

“The standard of training when there’s that much quality is amazing. I have competition for my place but why shouldn’t everyone have competition for their places?

“Top-class competition where, if you have two average games, you might lose your place. I have that and I don’t see why anyone else shouldn’t.

“I want world-class players to come through the front door to make you fight for your place.”

Rose’s England team-mate Barkley, who is being allowed to leave Everton, has long been linked with Spurs.

And Rose said: “Mauricio is a world-class manager and I can only voice my opinion — as a Tottenham ‘fan’ for the last six months.

“But hearing Ross might be available, well, I have played with and against Ross and bringing him through the door, in itself, would be a huge boost.

“I’m a huge fan. In terms of physical stature, right and left foot and trying to get him off the ball, he’s like Mousa Dembele. If Ross wants to push on to the next level, Mauricio Pochettino is the best manager to do that — just look how many players he has got into the England squad.”

While Spurs have yet to recruit this summer, there has been one significant departure — Walker’s £50m switch to Pep Guardiola’s City.

Rose, who has known Walker for 17 years since their days in Yorkshire schoolboy football, revealed he advised Pochettino not to sell the right-back.

He said: “Kyle leaving has been a big blow to me because when I play I am going into battle and when I am playing against the top people, I look over to Kyle and I fully expect Kyle to get the better of anybody.

“He was, and is, the best right-back in the league and seeing him sold to a title favourite and rival was hard.

“I wouldn’t expect Daniel Levy to tell me how to play football — we get on really well and he runs the club brilliantly — so I am not going to tell him how to run his club.

“But I didn’t want to see Kyle sold. I wish him all the best and he deserves what he is earning. City will win a trophy this season and he deserves to be part of that.

“I knew Kyle may have been moving at the end of last season and I did voice my view. ‘Try to keep him, he’s the best, why would we sell him?’ — I said that to the manager.

“But I’ve seen the manager say he feels Tottenham had the best of him and if that is what he feels, I fully respect the judgement of the manager and Daniel Levy.

“We do have a perfect replacement in Kieran Trippier. His crossing ability is the best I have played with and, as a person, he is one of the nicest I’ve ever come across.

“He looks like he’ll be Tottenham’s No 1 right-back. He deserves it and can flourish.”

I read that with my mouth agape. Absolutely unbelievable.

Kyle's move has been burning him; he just can't handle it and the whiff of that kind of money has turned him potty.

There is absolutely no way back for him.

This is shit I'd expect from Sherwood. Having left the club!

Anyone connected to the club who comes out with what he has has already left the club in his head.

It's over.

Stick the xxxx in the reserves for the rest of his contract.

Fuck him.

He's tried to inflict maximum damage on the club, players and fans just so he can go get his money.

Selfish, selfish, selfish xxxx

I will never fucking forgive him. Ever!

Just read through 30 odd pages of this and tired now. Emotions high so gonna sleep on thoughts and not be hasty.

I do feel genuinely very sad at this moment in time though, I will say that.

Pivotal point in clubs history was what I said at start of window. Stick or twist time. Really upset at how it's turned out so far but hope to God the next 3 weeks can bring a miraculous upturn in our fortunes.

Also if Pochettino had said from the get go, 'don't give me under developed players like Rose, Levy I want only name players, Rose never be in the position he is in now.

This really is outrageous, when you consider as well he signed a new contract knowing exactly what the Spurs model is, makes so little sense.

Suprised they don't have it in their contracts about speaking to the press without approval from club PR team.

He should no go the press and speak about things like this. But at the same time, he has many valid points.

We will probably sell him next summer and replace him some cheap player with mediocre ability.

Well the club is in nothing but a negative light, not sure how he was speaking from the clubs interests, grasping my friend, this is nothing but a selfish move, plain and simple. Don't see Toby out here chatting shit do you? Or any other player? Fuck even Kyle didn't pull some shit in the press to move

But it's the way he talks from the perspective of Spurs that gets me though. He's managing to cover all bases of wanting to leave one minute, thinking about leaving the next and finishing with definitely staying and talking about how we need to compete

After losing Walker and not replacing him directly, it's at a point now where if we were to lose any of these other players we have to make statement signings in response. And not just for the fans or the quality of the team but for the players that are currently there, for their mental state almost. If Rose goes, we absolutely need to show we still mean massive business through who we bring in in the transfer window.

The likes of Sissoko and Barkley aren't gonna cut it in convincing the current crop that they're still at the right club, if I'm honest. I know we can do our talking on the pitch too, but if we fall even just slightly short again and still don't make a statement in who we bring in it's not gonna end well.
