When he learns how to play football.

I was chatting to my dad the other day about Bent and he was saying how he's glad we got rid of him because he thought he was gay. Not sure how that's especially relevant but hey.

Bent was useless as tits on a wild bore hog for us.

I was delighted we sold him tbh....and of course the first thing I did was put him into my fantasy football team because I knew he would score left right and centre (even though he is an atrocious footballer and has an incredible knack for scoring meaningless goals).

He just never really belonged at Spurs tbh.

Glad he's gone...hope we never re-sign him.....Glad his shitness means hes cheap in fantasy football yet he still scores loads of points with his goals.

Yeah lets not go down the route of wanting our ex-players back every time they score and one of ours doesn't.

In the right team he'll score goals, we weren't the right team for him. End of.

It's not like we need goals at the moment.

All 3 main strikers scoring a lot. Lennon, Kranjcar, Jenas, Huddlestone, Palacios all have scored and even Corluka and Ekotto are scoring.

Only Liverpool have scored more.

About Bent. He's a good goalscorer, has always been.

He has, is and will always get goals. He gets a bad rap from a lot of Spurs fans, unjustly in my opinion.

If he ahd missed the one on ones against Chelsea and Burnley that JD had he would have been absolutely slaughtered. We never really got behind him and I think he needs support.

To get what we paid for him was good business. It was a buy at the wrong time at the wrong price, and its strange that we went out and did a similar thing with Pav. I personally think JD, Keane and Crouch offer more individually than Bent and we are better off without him.

Why we insist on having four top strikers I dont know.

Any reason why this is in spurs chat? seeing hes not a spurs player any more and we already have a thread open in general football.

Is there going to be a new thread opening every time he scores a goal?

I really dont get posts like this, i like to support the players that are currently pulling on our team shirt not ones that DONT play for Spurs...

Darren Bent's good in a mid to lower table team. We tend to play a possession game, he needs space to run into. Lots of teams come to the lane and sit back and defend, Bent without space to run into offers very little. Possibly the most unintelligent player (in footballing terms) i've seen in a spurs shirt. Glad he's gone and hopefully his good form means we're likely to get all the add ons in the possible £16.5m deal.

Crouch has better technique and finishes better. Bent runs channels. Both need quality balls in the box, and both plays against the last man. Only difference is the extent to which the ball needs to be placed - if its Bent then he would chase.

Given that generally speaking our players can play we can afford someone like Crouch.

Bent compensates finishing/skill with pace and energy. We dont need that trade-off.

Alright lads, it was in-jest. No need to get so worked up about it, atleast it wasn't another thread about Arshavin.

he scores for fun, but there's a reason why the top 4 didnt even lift an eye brow when charlton sold him, and then again when we did.

Bent will score goals if you build a team around him, and play to his strengths. We didn't, so why did we sign him? He was a good pro when he was with us, didn't moan, turned down a better offer to come to us, so I won't slag him off. He will score goals at Sunderland and I wish him all the best.
