I will be so happy if we sign David Villa. I might have to throw an impromptu street party to celebrate - and by that I mean collapse drunk in the middle of the road.

Don't see why the injury would necessarily have an impact on his career. Broken legs tend to be different to muscular or ligament damage. Once they're fixed they're fixed. If anything a season out resting may help him prolong his career.

That is what I think too that year out may even have even given him a breather from the game and may even help him play on for a bit longer through his career. I remember when Scholes was out for a season and he came back and looked a lot better as he had rested for such a long period of time. In any case I will be ecstatic if we sign Villa, No spurs fan should be too proud to think were to good for a player like him.

He always does his podcasts/transfer bulletin with him. And he's a closet spurs fan.

He's one of the better journalists on spurs. However he doesn't get everything right.

Not that much in the closet judging by his tweets of recent weeks. Has several times referred to Spurs as "we" or "us."

Right, I know I shouldn't ask this question yet but I've been wanting to for ages! If we do manage to sign Villa, do we give him Lennon's number 7?

I'm conflicted and have no idea

Haha, yes mine too. Doink Vs Brett Hart feud was good(y)

I'd better put something about Villa in this post, just can't think of anything :nailbiting:

Perhaps Villa was an old school WWF fan?

Seriously though, I am strangely confident about this signing. Want it to be Monday already (I don't usually like Mondays) so the final is over with and we can look forward to at least two announcements. :)

If we sign Villa it will be the first proper world/top european class forward we will have signed since Klinsmann - I'll be over the bloody moon.

Has the Villa vs Klinsmann debate been done? Maybe we should wait until he signs but it's got to be close.

Berbatov was certainly top class but at the time of his signing I think he wasn't overly regarded as a world class striker (could be wrong but thats how it felt to me). Villa has been one of Europe's top striker for years, he is top top class and I'll be delighted if we get him.
