I find it odd that people see this as an indication that our transfer policy has gone wrong - the market and values, yes, but us? No

Leaving aside values at the moment, spending big on very talented youngsters is absolutely what we should be doing. If we were spending this on a 29 year old, that's different - we'd never get that money back - but this guy looks an excellent player who won't (we hope) lose significant value.

And we needed a new CB IMO. This is great.

So let me get this right, we have potentially signed one of the highest rated young defenders in the world yet we have people complaining? Oh AND the window is still open? Taking it to a whole new level right guys?

I haven't been this excited about a Colombian signing for Spurs since I made a double swoop for Luis Quinnonez and Freddy Leon on Championship Manager 95/96.

They were fucking awesome.

Genuinely think this is a signing for the first team allowing Poch to push Dier up into his preferred midfield role to rotate with Wanyama.

Freddy Leon was amazing (on CM)

As others have posted, it's a potentially great buy because, amongst other things, it gives us excellent tactical flexibility

Yeah, him and Quinnonez basically won me the FA cup on their own once. Quinnonez was a DMC but I used to stick him behind the strikers and let him use his flair. Leon and Sheringham up front was deadly.

I've a good Ajax supporting Dutch friend who text me last night Quote,

" Congrats Dave. The Spurs bought the best player Ajax produced in decades. 45 million (euros) seems like a lot of money but I think in two years he will be worth double that money. Sad to see him leave but happy it's the Spurs who got him and not Real Madrid (who were willing to pay the same sum).

He then went onto say he was miles better than Vertongen when he left, also thought Madrid was more logical as he speaks Spanish but he heard our manager persuaded him.

He expects him to be first team, said he scores 10 important goals a season , is excellent all round and has really strong character.

Nothing new or different to anything that's been said but it's nice to hear from someone who watches him every game.

Sounds good. I agree that if he does well and we have to sell him in the future then with the way transfers are going he will be worth more. He'll, signing a contract with us and playing in the premier league makes him more expensive immediately.

Let's hope he performs well in this country too.

And I want a blowjob from Christy Turlington. (y)

I'm not sure Daniel Levy can make that happen, but good luck:cool:

Well he would probably pay it off in instalments.

5 million for every inch she goes down on @Bigjim6464

Not a bad deal for a total outlay of 10 million :cautious:

And this is where the genius of Levy comes in.

When Christy gets her next move to a bigger club/cock (me obviously), the deal is worth 10 million every inch.........

A cool 120 million!!!..........

And Daniel has added the customary 10% sell on clause, netting Spurs 12 million and leaving us an overall profit of 2 million!

That beautiful shiny headed bastard!.................

.........And Levy ain't bad either

we needed another CB imo, we were one Wanyama/Toby/Jan injury away from either playing Wimmer or playing with a back 4.

this gives us a lot more options, thanks to Dier's versatility

With him, Verts and Toby at the back (assuming we play a 343) I can only see us conceding less goals than last year. Let's Dier develop into the midfield player he could become whilst providing more strength in depth across the defence and midfield. I am excite.

Some people see anything as an indication that our transfer policy has gone wrong.
