Dawson overlooked for England?

Seems our Michael Dawson has been overlooked for England according to reports in the News of the World, with Jamie Carragher stepping in to the team! I can't believe how Capello has come to this decision considering that Dawson has been in tremendous form for us this season and that Jamie Carragher 'retired' from International football a few years ago because he was throwing a sulk because he wasn't being picked!

I'm gutted for Dawson if this is the case, I know we can't read too much into what the paper's say but he fully deserves to go to South Africa. here is the link

No point stressing over it till Capello announces his final squad on June 1st.

I doubt Carragher is being drafted in at Dawson's expense -- it's probably due to the unlikelihood of Ferdinand making the cut.

If Carragher makes the squad and Dawson does not, i shall support every fucking team but England. The fucking big stupid Italian wanker couldn't pick his fucking nose.

 Knee jerk and a half just there. Capello is the best manager England have had for years.

I would be disappointted if Carragher gets called up ahead of Dawson, simply because Dawson has been in much better form.

I can see why Carragher 'retired' from international football. I think its been a constant mistake over the years to drag established players around the world with no chance of getting a game, when taking a younger, inexperienced player would be much more productive. World cups are of course different, but I can see why Carragher got frustrated.

What will really piss me off would be Upson, who ahs been shocking for club and country, getting ahead of Dawson. Daws biggest problem is he hasnt been in any squad yet, but I would hope Capello has the balls to take the player who is more likely to do a good job.

Hope this isn't true, Carragher has been a bit ropey for Liverpool this season and I think his age is catching up with him - he's never been the most talent but was always a hard grafter but as the years are catching up on him it's not so easy to compensate.

Dawson should be in - do people reckon he'll be above Woodgate in the Spurs pecking order next season? Gonna be a toughie...

Terry (spit) and King should be the others.

Not sure about Rio as he's been turd but then maybe for England he'll switch it on again?

Jagielka is also quite good, but not sure if he's been back in Everton's team and fully recovered from injury as haven't been looking at their team line-ups lately.

I hate Carragher, always gets found out by pace and his distribution from the back is woeful. Dawson should go after the season he's had.

IIRC Carragher 'retired' cos Ledley kept being picked ahead of him, and now it seems he gets in at Daws' expense.

Hope it aint true.

TBH, I haven't enjoyed watching England for years, since McLaren pretty much made us the most boring team in the world, thus I won't really be watching too much of the World Cup. I will however be disgusted if Carragher gets the call over Ledley or Daws as he has been rubbish this season and they have both been sublime

He can't do anymore than he's already done, that being one of the best defenders in the Premiership this season, If Capello would rather pick a player that turned his back on his country then so be it. Regardless of him being a Spurs player I know who I'd rather take to South Africa.

I think Daws is ahead of Carra in Capellos mind. The fact that he could partner his club team mate (Ledley) for England is a big plus.
